so these are the differences AS I UNDERSTAND THEM. other people might have different definitions and that’s fine, despite popular mythology there is a lot of variance in psych term usage. The main point is that terminology explains what YOU experience and gives YOU the opportunity to potentially seek relief for symptoms that cause you discomfort or distress.

so social anxiety is kind of a fear of self. what am I gonna do wrong, how can I ruin this, will I say something stupid. it inhibits social interaction because you’re concerned about what you might do. ex: avoiding an event because you’re worried you’ll say something ridiculous and have a panic attack as a result.

social paranoia is kind of a fear of others. these people are trying to ruin my reputation, they’re talking shit, they’re out to get me. it inhibits social interaction because you’re concerned about what others might do or what they have already done. ex: avoiding an event because you think the host and their closest friends have been saying bad things about you and they only invited you so they could humiliate you.

Well the first song that came up was Intro- The XX which doesn’t have any lyrics, and then One More Time- Daft Punk which has very few lyrics BUT third time’s the charm. I’ll put the rest under a read more cause I picked a pretty big chunk of lyrics from the song that came up.

It is not cheating ^^ the answers are subject to change, of course, depending on how the story progresses, but at the moment this is the general breakdown. I’ll even throw in a bonus profile ;)

I’ll put this under a cut because it’s rather long but if anyone’s interested in these characters, they’re from my sideblog @lvckyclover where I post original fiction about robots!

SUBJECT: DRAGON

Gender cis male

Sexuality demisexual pan

Romantic demiromantic pan

Dragon takes a long, long time to grow romantically or sexually attracted to any given person. As a result, he’s had precious few past partners of any variety. Most notable is Val, the only one you could say Dragon loved and lusted after. The others were one-night stands, people Dragon picked up (or who picked him up) on a quest to determine if and when he experienced attraction. Since Val, though, Dragon’s avoided any romantic or sexual entanglements. I wonder why...?

SUBJECT: BEE

Gender nonbinary (uses female pronouns but does not self-identify as female if asked)

Sexuality asexual, but very unsure about it all; has a hard time distinguishing sexual attraction from romantic attraction as she’s not sure if she’s experienced either one before. 

Romantic panromantic; that being said, Bee is wary of male-presenting individuals until she either gets to know them or reads their files

Bee doesn’t like people on the whole, but she’s on the lookout for a longterm partner. She doesn’t think anyone’s ever going to accept her the way she is--Bee thinks of herself as broken--and she has a hard time so much as imagining herself with anyone, either romantically or sexually. She’s not interested in sex for the sake of it and is in fact afraid of it, and she doesn’t see how anyone would be attracted to her. For Bee, the whole romantic and sexual business people have with each other is mystifying and exclusive of her, something she’s simultaneously proud of and upset about.

SUBJECT: ANDRES GARCIA (AKA ANDY)

Andy is, for all intents and purposes, interested in everyone. He’s not going to go out and pick people up at bars or whatnot (unless they call him for a ride home because they’re drunk off their ass) but he’s not averse to sex or to much of anything. It’s not that Andy falls in love easily, exactly, more that he’s always open to the idea of it. He’s formed a lot of friendships this way, something the other parties tend to find awkward and he finds perfectly normal. That being said, Andy’s never had anyone stay the night in his apartment before. It’s a rule of his, ironclad and set in stone.

SUBJECT: TREBLE (CHOSEN NAME UNKNOWN)

Gender genderfluid (Treble will admit readily that they’re not quite sure what gender is to begin with but in terms of presentation it’s all over the map so they prefer genderfluid. Plus, “fluid” is a great word. Fluid.)

Romantic Treble’s unsure on this front but thinks maybe panromantic?

Treble’s not really sure what the difference between romantic and platonic love even is, and so they struggle to identify what, precisely, they feel. (Feelings are still new to Treble. Give them time.) They want to have classifications like this, just like how most Humans have, but it’s very difficult, and there’s no set equality to determine the answer. As such, it’s something that bothers Treble tremendously. They’re probably working on the answer right now as we speak.

SUBJECT: VALERIE COHEN (AKA VAL)
