anybody who’s followed me long enough might know that i work as a master control operator for one of the biggest hubs on the east coast for tv. my company has no plan for a pandemic like this haha. the hub literally can't function with less than three people (like, minimum) and one or two engineers...around the clock, day and night. not until i worked in tv did i realize how it was all just plate spinning on sticks made of straw lol.

like, if someone on one of our shifts or in the building was positive for COVID19, i have no idea what we’d do. Maybe we’d all have to wear rubber gloves and masks? like, tv doesn’t stop. we currently have 20 stations to monitor and operate, plus ingest (commercial spots, day-of-air shows, for just....so, so many markets). and mind you, none of us master control ops are engineers. i have a BA in communications with a concentration in film, my buddy jeff’s last job was at the movie theater. like. i always say it’s a literal miracle anything ever gets on tv at all.
