eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Ok so you guys I went both nights to see The National and it was one of the best concert experiences of my life! Both of them. Night one was awesome because I met a girl in line. I was wearing a Beirut shirt and she was like oh I like your shirt, I have that one! I am from Santa Fe! It turns out she took a picture of Zach that I recognized and we got talking and became like super good show buddies. She even invited me to Santa Fe to see some shows and we'll probably go to other shows around this part of the country :) We managed to make a really good team and prepare to run towards the barricade. Thanks to her we both got front row center on both nights!!!!! I wasn't even sure I was coming back the second night because of finances/tickets possibly being sold out etc. She bought me a shirt and surprised me!!!! She's like I want you to come back tomorrow so spend your merch money on a ticket instead. THAT IS SO NICE!!!!! So the show itself was insanely awesome!!!!! I'd only seen one full National show before and it was at a festival and I wasn't super close. This was insane!!!!!! Matt going bananas right up close and it was so perfect!!!!!! I was really hoping he'd look down at some point and see me and recognize me but he sings with his eyes closed a lot. Eventually he was doing his crowd thing and jumped down on a platform right in front of me. He looked down at me and he recognized me and since he was singing I could tell from his happy eye expression and then he pat my head :) After the show he made it a point to wave at me personally. The second night we got the same spot thanks to my speedy Santa Fe friend! Matt saw me again toward the end of the show. He grabbed my hand on the way back up. Ben and I gave a little wave to each other right before Vanderlyle. It was cute. Matt came down to give a set list to someone (maybe me? there was a lot of chaos so I don't really know haha there was just a free for all grab and I ended up grabbing a sign that someone else had written "Set list please" on hahaha! I'm actually happier with that because it's funny. :) After the show I walked down to the vehicle exit to see if anyone would say hi as they were leaving. Another guy came down to wait as well. Matt's van was coming down and he got out to talk to me! He's the nicest person. He was like "Kelly you were here both nights!" I said "yes! same spot because we ran haha" He's like "Oh my God did you get crushed there?! Even I'd be afraid with all those people." I said "Haha Matt, it was totally worth it." It really was. That's a show that will stay with me forever.

1) What kind of sport do you like?
Football (soccer) and basketball. For watching, not for playing because I'm not good at sports.
2) Do you love your country?
Yes and no. I don't like rules and following strict customs. We don't have as formal social codes here as we do in Europe. The U.S. has way more people from all sorts of backgrounds so it's hard to apply the same social norms to everyone. I don't want to make a big dinner/tea for people when they visit for example. I'd rather just eat pizza on the couch and watch TV. Most people in the U.S. are more willing to have someone crash at their house with very little preparation/concern. In Europe there are more rules around who can stay/when they can stay etc. Basically I like that things are easier here in that regard but I dislike how our government is so poor at managing money and distributing it to those who actually would benefit from it. Our healthcare is a joke as well. Corruption abounds!
