I did this test Wednesday. The lab had never done this test so I was there for like 45 min while they read the booklet making Sure they did everything 100% right. Luckily it was my favorite lab lady, and as always she did an awesome job. It was 2 giant tubes. Like listen guys I used to do phlebotomy and I swear to god these were the biggest tubes I've ever seen beside lung transplant tubes. Idk maybe the same size lol. Hopefully i hear something before the first, but it can take 14 days. I've read that people at 10 weeks usually take the full 14 days.

12/13 Week Update

Had our 12 week appointment today, little bit late since I'm 13w exactly, but close enough. We heard the heartbeat for the first time! So exciting, 156bpm and very strong. They informed me my urine sample never got sent out for my drug screen so that had to get done again. I go back on Monday August 22nd for my nuchal translucency screening and Panorama test. When we get the results back we'll find out baby's gender! More accurate than an ultrasound so we can start buying gendered clothes and accessories etc based on the results. Doctor said they'll only need 1 vial of blood for that which is awesome considering my vasovagal response is horrible. The longer it takes the more worked up I get. Will update again on Monday, hopefully with some cute ultrasound pictures!

The coolest blood test ever

Today I had panorama testing done, which I still think is just so awesome. They draw blood and literally look at the baby's DNA to check for autism, trisomy 18, and a bunch of other things. And it's just a bonus that the test also tells you the gender! And I'm only 12 weeks! How cool is this thing? A noninvasive prenatal screening that is more accurate than an invasive amonio and doesn't come with a risk of miscarriage. Results next week!
