[Helsa Week 2021] Day 1: Parenthood

Accidental Parenthood

Helsa Headcanon Moodboard:

Takes place in a Post F2-verse where Hans has redeemed himself (or is working on it) and is now living in the Enchanted Forest under Elsa's supervision. 👀

So, one day Hans & Elsa find a 3-5+ year old little girl living out in the wilderness, that ends up imprinting on them like a baby duckling.

The little girl is a bit shy and slightly feral, appearing as if she's been lost in the woods for quite a while. (It's assumed that she was likely orphaned or abandoned).

She doesn't really speak much at first so she didn't have name (or at least couldn't tell them), so she's nicknamed Samantha, thanks to Olaf.

For some reason (probably because she can sense his mellowness) she really takes a liking to Hans, and clings to him the most. At first Hans acts all annoyed about, but he's actually a big softie, and can't help but be sweet on the girl, especially when he thinks Elsa isn't looking. #Papa!Hans (He wouldn't mistreat a child because he knows what that's like first hand).

She is a little more shy towards Elsa in the beginning, being in awe of her magic and slightly intimated of her being the fifth spirit, but eventually they warm up to each other. Because for an Ice Queen Elsa is not as cold as she looks, particularly when it comes to children.

Samantha really, brings out a maternal/paternal side, which neither thought they had in them. As well as bringing back a spark of child-like whimsy to their lives. Giving them a chance at childishness they didn't get to fully enjoy in their youth.

With Hans and Elsa somehow becoming her surrogate parents, Sam inadvertently helped bring them together a little more. Unexpectedly bringing out sides of themselves that they might have kept hidden otherwise.

[This HC was first discussed on the Helsa Discord. There's more to it and I could/would love to ramble on and on (by going into detail about all the possible scenerios), but we'd be here all day, so this is the the gist of it.]

This was originally supposed to be my placeholder for the HelsaWeek back in April, but didn't happen because I couldn't find stuff to fit the aesthetic, but I finally found some, so here it is now.

P.S: I'm also hoping to post an unrelated drawing (to this HC) for this prompt as well, so this is actually [1/2]

"You don't have to stay, you know." She smiled, before gesturing at the snowgies surrounding her on the bed. "I already have some company."

Hans shook his head, taking a step closer to sit on the bed, facing her. He felt a slight chill as a snowgie climbed onto his lap.

"I want to take care of you." He fondly said. "Do you really think I'd listen to Olaf and leave you with them?"

"No, but I'm sure Olaf means well." Elsa grinned, gently poking the snowgie next to her, earning herself a giggle. "They have been behaving quite nicely, no?"

"Eh," Hans almost grimaced, remembering what happened the day before, "well, sort of, only whenever the mother is around."

"The mother?" She raised a brow.

His cheeks flushed once he realised what he'd just implied. "I mean you."

Hans stared back at a beaming snowgie that was sitting beside Elsa, slightly amused by the creature.

"Hmm, the mother?" Elsa smiled knowingly. She looked down at the snowgie nesting in the Admiral's lap. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Imagine Hans pressing his ear to Anna's pregnant belly, eager to hear his child moving around inside of her, but then the baby kicks really hard and hits him right in the nose, exactly where Anna accidentally smacked him on Elsa's coronation night.

I'm cackling this is the best thing ever

Anna's just lying down prostrate with laughter and Hans is busy nursing his bruised ego nose muttering something that sounds suspiciously like "why is it always the nose?"

omg i can see older married couple hans and anna arguing about their daughter's dating life and hans just screaming out, "I KNOW HOW MEN THINK. I USED TO BE THAT GUY >(" and Anna is like ">:|||| NOT EVERYONE IS YOU GAWD"

Evil ! King Hans AU where Hans and Anna have a daughter who is blind. She cannot see, though she can see the good and evil within people's hearts. When Anna is sent away on queen duties, the daughter holds Hans close and touches his cheeks and calmly tells him that she sees no real warmth or kindness within him. The daughter breaks down in tears, and in the first time in Hans' life he begins to re think his actions, and is more genuine towards Anna and their daughter.
