For the record these are Cuban tamales instead of Mexican tamales and apparently the recipes are different. We'd be both going in blind, but the source of the recipe is recommended.

Thanks. So far so good. There's a small welt where he was stung, but that's the worst of it so far. He hasn't reported any other issues since I reapplied the baking soda half an hour ago. I'm hoping that we've made it through the worst of it.
