I try my hardest at everything that I take the time to do.

I am an excellent mom. Even on my bad days, I always make sure my kids are well taken care of & feel loved.

I keep on trying again. If I lose steam or inspiration on a project or motivation, I just pick it up & try again.

I am an idea person. I come up with lots of great ideas for myself & my family. Sometimes I lack the desire to finish a project, but I've always got several things that I'm working on.

I love my hair. I've cut it myself for about 20 years. I have occasionally gone to get it professionally done, but always feel frustrated that it looks so boring & they never really care to do what I ask for. Plus, I enjoy trying out new things & ideas. Sometimes it's a mess, but it's my mess :D

1. what is your guilty pleasure? I love magazines. My favorites are Yoga Journal, bon appetit & Living. It's a rare treat to sit & relax with a magazine. I usually give them to a cafe or laundromat when I'm finished with them. Or I use them up for collages.

2. if you could have a PhD in anything (already, without doing all the hard work), what would it be? I have thought about this one the most. I have never been able to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I change my mind from day to day.

3. what is your dream retirement location? Austin, Texas or somewhere on the Gulf Coast in a beach house. I'm not picky as long as it's beautiful :)

4. favorite book? My Life in Orange by Tim Guest makes me oddly happy. The Eden Express by Mark Vonnegut leaves me with a similar feeling.

5. approximate number of concerts/live band shows you’ve attended? I think 6 or so major concerts & tons of live bands at small clubs.

6. do you get scared if you’re home alone at night? if so, what do you fear? I am less scared now that I am a mom, since I'm the protector & have developed ninja reflexes. I mostly fear nightmares, sleeplessness & having to wake up at the crack of dawn each day.

7. baths or showers? I am a fan of the 4 min shower, but I can enjoy a nice bath once a month or so. Especially if there's a good book & a glass of wine involved.

8. what helps you when you’re in a crappy mood? Music, fresh air, organizing clutter, coffee, writing to a penpal, tumblr, beer...

9. favorite item to shop for? kitchen linens -- tea towels, cloth napkins, wash cloths...Etsy forever!

10. what does the word “mother” make you think of? comfort, open arms, cuddling, strength, support, unconditional love

You are so incredibly sweet!  This trip has been so special for me.  I haven't seen my older brother in 10 years!  And it's been almost 20 years since I've seen my only cousin on my dad's side of the family.  As kids, we always came to the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, for a week every summer.  Now, we're the parents & we're having so much fun -- eating ice cream twice a day & catching up & getting to know each others' children & seeing them bond.  Special beyond words.  Trip of a lifetime, for sure.  Thank you again for your lovely comment ;)
