Pappo has the blues, and they sound goooood!
So I'm having a pretty normal day of hopping around my massive music backlog with a random number generator and I roll up Pappo's Blues's Vol. 3 (short for Volumen Tres). And I immediately have a little laugh because who the hell goes around calling themself Pappo? And then I press play and "Stratocaster Boogie," the slightly over a minute long intro starts and blows my hair back with an onslaught of Pappo's guitar. And he doesn't let up for a searing 28 minutes of blues rock perfection from 1972 Argentina. I should have seen it coming of course. 70s Argentina was a hot bed for all kinds of super cool rock music, and the gloriously psychedelic cover perfectly fits the mood. And yet, I was surprised nonetheless, which is always a nice feeling to have when you find something like this. Anyway, give it a listen!!!
