Hi, there! My name is Rain, and I’m an ICU nurse. Because of COVID, my unit recently got PAPRs. What are PAPRs?

These here cool lookin’ space suits. They help protect us healthcare workers while we take care of COVID patients. They work by filtering air through a HEPA filter (located in that little box on the back) and pushing it up through the tube to supply that cool space helmet with purified air. 

“Ok, cool, why are you telling us this, Rain?”

Oooooooh, hear me out! Notice where that box that pulls in and filters the air is located. Why does that matter? Let me give you a hint by saying I ate some really good tacos and beans one night before I worked. 

HEPA filters, while wonderful, definitely do not filter out smaller.... uh........ “scent” particles. We healthcare workers are one slip up away from farting in our own faces.
