Santana had done her best to cover up the marks Dani had left behind. They were far bigger than she had imagined once she’d gotten around to facing them in the mirror, but they only reminded her of what exactly Dani had done to her the previous night. Things had turned heated once more, clothes flying off to one side or another, but Santana had done her absolute best to keep things as cool as possible. Yes, they had probably both fallen asleep with an ache between their legs, but that was how it needed to be for now.
But now wouldn’t be for much longer, at least not if Santana’s plan would go the way she planned. Her birthday had been an even bigger eye opener, and she knew by now that staying away from intimacy with Dani for any longer was impossible. It would have been so easy for both of them to give in on Tuesday night, resisting the voice in her head telling her to stop. She hadn’t, though, and that was what mattered.
Tonight would either make it or break it. Santana knew that there was a chance of her walking out of Dani’s door for the last time in less than an hour, but she felt like it was a risk worth taking. She knew that it was. Dani mattered. Dani meant so much to her already, even in ways she couldn’t define or put into words properly, and it made everything that much more needed. It made the talk that much more needed. Yes, she dreaded it so insanely much, the part of her that knew fear demanded to be felt feeling how the thought of being kicked out terrified every bone in her body.
The ride to Dani’s felt like mere seconds, and in a blur she was out of the vehicle and making her way up the stairs. Remembering what she had been told, she pushed open the door, though rather carefully as she peaked inside. Not risking running into any of Dani’s roommates, she made her way towards the blonde’s room instantly after quickly grabbing two glasses from the cabinet in the kitchen. Santana knocked once on Dani’s door to announce her presence, and pulled open the door a second later to enter the room. “I avoided the creeps.” She grinned widely, as she closed the door behind her.
Walking towards Dani, still wearing her coat and heels, she leaned down to kiss the woman’s lips briefly with a smile. “Hi.” She carefully sat down the wine and two glasses on her former girlfriend’s nightstand, before shrugging off her coat and hanging it over a chair. “How’s the search going?” She asked as she crawled into Dani’s bed, settling down beside the blonde as she reached for the wine. She needed to get this done before losing her nerve, and began filling the glasses as she waited for Dani to answer.
