Casual Encounters - Addison/Micah
Micah’s life as of late had been decidedly drab, and boring. He wasn’t feeling particularly excited by anything other than going to perform every night, and he really did feel the need to do something spontaneous, so inviting Addison out seemed like a good solution to that problem. He didn’t exactly know her very well, but hey, he was always up for an adventure. When the chance for them to hang out came up, he jumped on it, a part of the day when neither of them were busy with any kind of work. He’d shot her a quick text with where to meet him since it was easier than traveling across the city to find a place to meet up -- and in hindsight, part of him wished he’d been gentlemanly enough to offer to do so. As far as he knew, it was just two tentative friends hanging out, and she was an intriguing woman. He’d taken enough care to put a jacket on since it wasn’t cold enough to warrant anything heavier, and forced himself out of his apartment and into a cab.
Central Park seemed like a good place to begin their excursion, and so he wasn’t surprised to see Addison waiting exactly where they’d agreed upon. “Hey! Sorry I’m late,” he said, jogging over to her, resting his hand on the back of the bench to catch his breath, which was clearly an exaggeration and a joke. “So, we have a few options. We can walk around and enjoy making fun of the tourists and shitty hot dog carts, or you can trust me and let me take you to one of my favorite places in the city. And, disclaimer, I promise you won’t end up getting slaughtered in an alley. Last time I treated a friend to this place, he asked if he was going to get his kidneys torn out.”
