By far, the worst mistake Tom Hiddleston had ever made in his life was letting Elizabeth Olsen go. Even if he made it clear when he did that he had every intention of coming back to her. Clearly, the space he thought he needed to think things through did not last for very long. It took him all of eight days to break the silence and reach out, let alone getting drunk in the midst of it and booking a ticket to fly out and see her. While he thought he wasn’t going to, due to not wanting to miss out on spending any time with his daughter while she was still very little, he realized he wanted to fix things and make it right with Lizzie now. Not in a few months. A few days wouldn’t make a difference.
Tom packed a generous sized suitcase and his laptop for a carry-on. He texted Lizzie to just pick him up at the arrivals to avoid any kind of unwanted attention, so as soon as he picked up his suitcase from baggage claim and allowed two selfies with young squealing teenage girls, he adjusted his baseball cap back again to cover his eyes, hoodie over his head to further blend himself in and headed out to the arrivals, searching for Lizzie’s temporary ride. As soon as Tom saw her pull in, he greeted her with a tired but friendly Hello, darling, opened the back passenger side door and shifted his belongings in quickly, before getting into the front passenger seat, leaning over and pressing several kisses to her cheek. He smiled a bit, pressing another kiss to her cheek. “Hi, baby.” @lizzieolxen
Santana was beyond just curious about what Dani wanted to share with her. She enjoyed their time together, and she wanted to get to know the blonde far better than she already did, especially if it involved a lack of clothing. It seemed somewhat important, however, and because of that Santana decided to stay dressed for the occasion. Sure, she could still do whatever she wanted and if she’d wanted to be naked when Dani arrived, then the girl would have had to live with that. Santana still wanted for the girl to have a chance to speak, though, and she had let her door be open ever since their little talk, not wanting to get up when Dani arrived.
She was sat on her couch, a bowl of fruit at her side that she nipped at, and she had just plopped a grape into her mouth when she heard the footsteps. “I’m in here, pet.” Her voice was gentle, because she couldn’t lie about being excited to see the girl, and a grin spread across her face at the sight of her. “Come sit with me.” It wasn’t exactly a harsh order, and she tapped her lap as she waited for the girl to act on the soft command.
Description: Lucy and James have a chat and they give each other their presents.
Notes: Mentions of an ED further in, I’ll do the tags when it happens.
LUCY:
Thin legs curled under her as she rested her head against the back of the couch. A yellow jumper floating in front of her as she flicked her wand accordingly. Grandma Molly has left her to continue the jumper even as she told her of all the ways she was sure to mess it up. However, the blob of yellow was actually shaping up to be something cute. So Lucy let herself relax against the couch, a yawn on her lips as she stared blankly at the jumper. Tugging at her own jumper she hugged it close to her, curling her legs closer to her as she made herself even more comfortable.
The warm of the house slowly trying to lull her to sleep, blue eyes fighting to stay open; if only for Becca’s last present. Straightening up, she leaned towards the small table, picking up the mug of butterbeer to warm her hands. Bringing it up to her lips she took a small sip before bring down onto her lap just as someone walked into the room. “Hey.” she greeted happily, tucking a curl behind her ear and she gave him a smile.
Who: Mason Carver and Quinn Fabray [@qfabray-with-wings]
When: 4th December.
Where: Hawaiin Touch
What: Quinn and Mason are eachother’s blind date to the Hazel Run Cold Snow Ball.
Mason clenched to the bunch of flowers with his right hand, and with his left steadied himself against the edge of the table, leaning against it slightly. It felt strange being so…covered…in the little Hawaiian themed restaurant, usually he’d just be in a pair of shorts with some trainers on his feet. But hey, no-one liked to dress up real fancy more than Mason did. Earlier in the day he would have been lying if someone had asked if he was nervous and he replied with a ‘no’ because he woke up, nervous as hell. Mainly because he never really understood who came up with the events that Hazel Run came up with and it’d just be his luck that he’d get lumbered with someone freaky. But his experience with blind dates weren’t exactly bad, so what did he have to lose? Except for maybe his wallet or something… But the name that he had got ‘lumbered’ with made Mason very happy indeed. Quinn Fabray, score!
He’s made sure that he picked out a real nice suit to make sure that he was showing off his best assets without actually taking any clothes off, namely his ass and his shoulders. He knew how much Quinn adored his butt, so why deprive her of the right to take a look, right? He’d arrived a tad earlier to make sure that Quinn hadn’t turned up early and he looked like a douche turning up late, all he had to do was lay in wait for his date to show up so they could get their night started. And when she walked through the door, Mason flashed his famous grin and, from across the restaurant called out to her “Hey Hot-Stuff…” he waved with his hand not holding the flowers, “…Look who you got!” he added with a wink in her direction.
Dani hadn’t exactly planned on getting hammered that night, but, here she was. Some of her friends had invited her out, and since she had the next few days off of work, she figured she might as well let loose a little bit. She had been working so much that she barely got the time to see them, or do anything like this, so it was nice to catch up even if that involved one too many shots. Or four. The problem was (or maybe it wasn’t a problem anymore), drinking always made her think of Santana. And while she could easily control her urges to text her when she had been beyond pissed off at the woman, they were actually getting along now - and she found herself writing a message to Santana from the back of a cab as soon as the idea popped into her mind.
Any thoughts about how inappropriate some of their texts were for the current position of their relationship weren’t even bothering Dani, because right now all she could do was enjoy the texts, and the attention she was getting from her former girlfriend. She was being extremely flirty, and she knew it (even her friends had called her out on her flirt face when she had been looking at her phone), but she couldn’t care less.
She should have known Santana would show up right after Dani told her where she was, though she thought that the woman would at least wait until she told her she was going home. But Santana was Santana, and that meant that she worried, and well - it was cute. So Dani wasn’t at all phased when she got a text saying Santana was outside, and she was quick to grab her coat, ditch her friends with a short goodbye and walk out the somewhat smelly dive bar. It definitely wasn’t a place to revisit.
“Heeeyy,” Dani said with a wide smile when she spotted and walked over to Santana, her arms going around her instinctively. She nuzzled her face slightly in the girl’s hair, and sighed contently. She was a touchy person in general, but intoxicated Dani (as Santana knew) knew not of boundaries. “You smell nice,” Dani murmured, before her hands dropped around the woman’s waist, “You really going to make me walk all the way home, or can we take a cab?”
One month. It had only been a month since the Snape incident, yet to Remus it felt like a lifetime. His relationship with Sirius had changed dramatically, although maybe saying it had been destroyed would be a better way to describe it. How could he ever begin to trust the other boy after he'd done something like that? He'd used Remus' condition as some sort of sick joke, in an attempt to win this stupid battle with Severus. It could have ended in a fatality, or with another werewolf suddenly loose in the school. It could have seen Remus being expelled; his education could have been ceased and any prospects he may once have had would have been ruined. Everyone in the school would have known what he was, Merlin, even if he hadn't been expelled he would have been a pariah, no one would have felt safe around him ever again.
Sirius could have cost him everything, so how could he forgive him for that? He knew exactly how much Remus cared about his education and how grateful he was for his place in school. Dumbledore didn't have to allow him into the castle, but because he believed in the education of all he'd allowed Remus a relatively normal adolescence.
Sirius' actions hadn't only affected their relationship, but it had also had an impact on all of the Marauders. Remus found it harder to talk to his other two best friends, almost believing that they'd take Sirius' side over his own. After all, James was Sirius' best friend, the two were thick as thieves so what was to say that he didn't silently agree with what the other boy had done? Peter was...well, he was just better at keeping out of the whole situation, leaving Remus very few opportunities to actually see him or talk to him. Instead the young Gryffindor spent most of his time in the library, hidden away in corners and only going back to the common room to sleep. Each time he came back to the dormitory it seemed as though he was greeted by another note, but most of them were ignored. He didn't want to listen to excuses or Sirius asking for forgiveness, it wouldn't change things.
However, the final note he received hit him harder than the others and he couldn't leave it alone. He'd spent a lot of time pondering over future full moons and what could possibly happen, and in the end he reached a conclusion: none of his friends would accompany him. It wasn't safe for any of them. He knew that his wolf hurt them on occasion, he knew they were in danger every time they walked down to the Willow once a month. It would be safer for them all if they just stayed away, which was how he'd responded to Sirius. If he knew they weren't going to be joining him then he'd be a lot calmer in the run up to the full moon, and they wouldn't have to patch themselves up after a night of running around with a wolf.
When he'd brought the subject to James' attention he hadn't been surprised that his friend had objections, but Remus wasn't about to take 'no' for an answer. In the end he made sure that none of them would be approaching the Whomping Willow; he'd be completely alone. That thought should have been a relief, but as he walked away from his friend he couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness. He hadn't been properly alone on a full moon at Hogwarts for years. Even the last one he'd been expecting his friends to arrive and then his wolf had been distracted by the sight of actual humans. This time there'd be nothing; no promise of his friends coming to set him free, no people walking into the shack (thank Merlin), he'd be completely alone.
That was exactly how it ended up when he made his way down to the shack on the evening of the full moon, his hands stuffed in his pockets to stop them shaking. The moon wasn't even visible yet but he could feel the wolf pacing just below the surface of his mind. He followed his usual routine once he was through the passageway, climbing up to the bedroom before he removed his robes. He placed his change of clothes ready in the scratched dresser and stepped away, waiting for the silvery light to appear over the horizon.
--
Sunlight filtered in through the tattered curtain, its beams barely warming the wooden floors they landed on. A soft, wintry breeze swept through the cracks in the window, which was much more effective at waking the sleeping boy lying spread-eagled on the floor. The hairs on his arms stood on end as he groaned, his eyelids unnaturally heavy as he tried to open them. Everything ached, which was pretty normal after a transformation, but he felt...different.
Eventually he managed to blink an eye open, a slight furrow in his brow as he noted some kind of sticky substance trying to keep his eyelid glued together. He blinked twice, his vision improving with each attempt and after a moment he was able to lift a hand to wipe at both eyes. When he glanced down at his fingers his frown deepened: there was something staining his hand now, something red and wet. Blood.
It took a moment for his brain to kick into gear but when it did he let out another groan; it wasn't unusual to wake up with scratches on his body, but normally they were kept out of sight.
The more awake he felt the more his body ached; his face felt tight and he started to grow nervous about what sort of damage he'd done. His legs were shaking in the breeze and his chest was starting to get sore the longer he lay on it. Gingerly he attempted to push himself up but his arms gave way within seconds, he fell back to the floor with a grunt of pain and a soft splash.
His eyes shot open at that noise, that wasn't normal. With what felt like a great effort he managed to get his hands under him again, pushing himself up only slightly. His eyes went wide as he saw the pool of blood beneath his body. The front of his chest was painted red and he couldn't even begin to tell where the blood was coming from. For some reason it was as though actually seeing the amount of blood he had apparently lose made him feel worse. He was suddenly incredibly tired, his arms juddering in the attempt to hold up even a small amount of his weight. It wasn't long before he dropped back to the floor and his world faded to lack.
Description: Alison and Emily go on a second date to a festival in Pennsylvania, away from Rosewood, where they plan on finally acting like a couple in public. But it doesn't go according to plan when 'A' sends an invite to Aria, Spencer, and Hanna to join them.
Emily checked her watch as she waited for three o’clock to roll around, so that she could go pick up her girlfriend and finally head to the Festival over in Pennsylvania, farther away from Rosewood than ever. Emily couldn’t deny it, she was excited that she was able to get some time alone with Alison, and in public for once, without worrying about who would catch them or see them. She straightened out the small wrinkle in her jeans, texting to let Alison know she was on her way over. Picking up her small messenger bag and adjusting the straps over her light green t-shirt, Emily was on her way to Alison’s. The drive was quick, considering she didn’t want to waste any more time than she already could. Seeing Alison’s house in the near distance, Emily slowed down, pulling up next to her girlfriend’s house. She honked the horn once, patiently waiting for Alison.
Alison stared at her reflection in the mirror in satisfaction. She was wearing a white skirt with a blue blouse, a matching cardigan completing the look. Oh sure, they were only going to a festival, but this was her and Emily’s first date in public, and she wanted to look as good as possible. “You look less ugly than usual.” Alison saw Jason’s reflection behind her in the mirror, rolling her eyes as she grabbed the tiny diamond studs she had set out for the occasion and carefully slid them into her ears, wincing at the slight prickling feeling. “What’s the occasion? Got a hot date?” Alison grabbed her purse and phone. “No!” She said, voice defensive. “I gotta go.” She headed out of her bedroom door and downstairs, walking over to Emily’s car and sliding into the passenger seat. “Hey,” she said with a smile. She wanted to kiss Emily in greeting, but seeing as they were still parked in front of her house she figured that wouldn’t be the best idea.
Emily fiddled with the tuner of the radio, trying to find a station that they could listen to without extremely annoying static or commercials, but she knew the latter was slim. Her eyebrows creased into a tight knit, sighing once she finally settled on one. Leaning back into her seat, Emily turned her head and saw Alison coming towards the passenger side of her car, a smile beginning to form on her lips. She unlocked the doors, allowing her girlfriend to settle into the car. “Hey.” she said back, the smile on her lips still there. If Emily was the bold kind, she would have just threw caution to the wind and kissed her there, but she wasn’t sure who was around, since, well, they were still in Rosewood. “I say, we get this show on the road and get out of here.” she chuckled, looking at her sideview mirrors and the rearview to make sure no cars were approaching before pulling away from the curb of Alison’s house. “You look pretty, by the way.” Emily complimented once they were on the main highway, waiting at a red light in which she seized the opportunity to look at the blonde beside her.
Alison pulled the seatbelt across her body, buckling it. “I say totally. The sooner we get out of Rosewood, the better.” She smiled at Emily’s compliment when she told her she looked nice. “So do you,” she returned the compliment, nodding her head. And the girl really did- unlike Alison and the rest of their group Emily had never been one to dress up unless it was absolutely required, but the casual look was good on her. She had a way of looking beautiful without even trying, something even Alison could never accomplish. “I hope we don’t see anyone we know there,” she said nervously, the feeling of panic creeping up on her all at once. That was the thing about panic- one second you were fine, and then the next you were hyperventilating.
Emily blushed a little, something that never seemed to go away no matter how many times she tried to hide it from Alison. Unlike Emily, Alison always seemed to look her best, no matter what she wore or what style she went with, whereas Emily always liked to keep it simple. “Thanks.” she said, nodding. Her eyes turned to the road, pressing the gas pedal as she picked up speed to go on the expressway. She could sense the nerves in Alison’s voice, and if she had to admit, she had second doubts about it too. But she reassured herself that it was the weekend, and most people in Rosewood would be buried with homework or drinking themselves into nothing. “We’ll be fine…right? I mean, the residents of Rosewood are probably just going to do what they normally do, party with Kahn or some sort of random party. We’ll be fine..” she said slowly, trying to convince herself as well. Her eyes lingered over to Alison’s hand, taking one hand off the wheel and intertwining it with the blonde’s. “Let’s hope the rides and the music won’t be as bad…” she attempted to joke with a giggle.
Alison ”Right…” Alison nodded her head, giving her girlfriend’s hand a small squeeze after she had laced their fingers together. “I’m just being paranoid, anyway… what are the chances of someone from Rosewood finding out about this random festival in Philly and deciding to come on the exact same day as us, anyway? It’d be way too much of a coincedence.” She smiled mischeviously. “I wanna go on the Tilt-a-Whirl, the Ferris Wheel, and every single other ride they have- provided you won’t throw up on me. Think your stomach will be able to handle all the rides, Em?” She asked.
Emily nodded a little. “I don’t think they’d be willing to come to Philly unless it’s a big thing.” she shrugged, nervously. Emily caught sight of Alison’s mischievous smile, arching an eyebrow at her girlfriend. “I can handle that. I’m a little frightened about that Tilt-a-Whirl, though… but I won’t throw up on you.” Emily giggled. Her brown eyes shifted to the GPS, following the shortcut so they could beat the traffic to the festival.
Alison ”Thanks for not vomiting on me. This blouse is way too pretty to ruin.” Alison looked out the window, watching as they got closer and closer to the festival. She could hear the sounds of music and kids screaming, she could smell the food that was cooking, and her stomach growled, reminding her of how hungry she was. She had eaten a late breakfast that day, so she skipped lunch, and she was starting to seriously regret that decision now.
Emily ”You’re welcome, queen.” Emily joked. Emily focused on the road ahead of them, turning into the shoulder that led them straight to the festival. She yielded to all traffic and eventually, they were in the parking lot for the festival. “Finally, we’re here.” Emily said, contently. She shut off the ignition, still sitting in the car as she realized that they were finally out of Rosewood. Recalling how Alison’s stomach growled earlier, she chuckled. “Before you attend to your hunger.. I kind of want to do something we can never do in Rosewood.” Emily teased slightly. Out of habit though, she looked around before her eyes locked on Alison’s. She smiled shyly, but leaned in, closing the gap between them by kissing her gently.
Alison ”Queen…” Alison smirked. “I could get used to being called that.” It felt liberating sitting in the car in public with Emily, so far away from Rosewood. There was no way -A could be watching them now, even if -A was still around, looking for ways to destroy them. “It’s cool- I don’t mind you taking time to take care another type of hunger,” she murmured with a smile as Emily’s lips met hers. Just like the first time they had kissed it set off a flood of butterflies in her stomach, and she reached up, gently gripping Emily’s face as they kissed.
Emily nearly laughed at Alison’s comment before she kissed her, smirking a little bit in disbelief. But as soon as their lips met, she became serious and all she could focus on was feeling Alison kiss her back and the grip she had on her face. Her hand went to rest on her shoulder as she deepened the kiss slightly, excited that they were free, in a way, to express whatever they wanted without judgment. Emily pulled away slightly, looking at the girl who sat before her. She smiled lightly, her fingers reaching to caress her cheek slowly. She stayed there for a few moments, just taking in the freedom she felt before sitting up again.
Alison ”I may not be totally gay, but I’m so gay for you, Emily Fields,” she whispered into her girlfriend’s ear with a giggle, kissing her once more on the lips before she sat up straight too. “Wanna go in now?” She asked, grabbing her purse. She opened it, taking out her ticket to get in.
Emily giggled a little, smirking afterwards. “Is that a compliment?” Emily asked, an amused look on her face as she kissed her back. She pulled out her purse from the backseat, nodding at Alison’s question in response. “Yup, let’s go.” she said after getting her ticket out. Getting out of the driver’s side, Emily went over to Alison’s, opening her door. Once her girlfriend was out, Emily closed the door and locked her car, lacing her hand with Alison’s again. She walked with her to the entrance, handing over her ticket and before they knew it, they were admitted into the festival.
Alison ”I don’t know, would you have rather I said I’m 100% straight and have no attraction to you at all?” She teased Emily. “I think not.” She couldn’t stifle the giggle that built up in her throat as Emily came over and opened her door, shaking her head in amusement at her girlfriend. She gave them her ticket when they got to the ticket booth, pulling Emily through the gates. “What do you wanna do first?” She asked excitedly.
Emily: “Noo…” Emily trailed off, smiling a little. Once she was at Alison’s side, she narrowed her eyes at the stifle she heard, nudging her jokingly. Once they were through the gates, she giggled at the excitement in her girlfriend’s voice. “Um, food? I don’t think I want my girlfriend fainting on a ride or passing out.” she teased, pulling on her hand to the concession stands. She looked over the options, deciding that she was going to get a pretzel. “What do you want to get?” she asked, smiling.
Alison ”Me neither. I think it would bring way too much attention to us if I got taken away in an ambulance. And passing out would probably hurt.” Alison looked over the menu once they got to the concession stand. “I’ll have some nachos and a Diet Coke, please,” she said to the man working behind the counter, and he left the register to get their food.
Emily ”It wouldn’t be fun, that’s for sure.” Emily said. After the man came back with their food, Emily paid for them after asking for a bottle of water, and handed what Alison’s order was to her. Picking up her order, Emily nodded to a table nearby. She walked towards it, sitting down so they could eat without having to worry about spilling or dropping anything. She took a bite out of her pretzel, glancing around at everyone who was at the festival. “This place is more packed than I thought it would be.” Emily admitted.
Alison followed Emily over to the table, setting her food down on it and lowering herself onto the hard metal bench. She took one of her nachos, dipping it in the cheese and popping it in her mouth. “I know,” she said, looking around. “You’d think more people would’ve been here yesterday rather than today.”
Emily ”I guess people are all for being different.” she shrugged, taking another bite of her pretzel. She was glad that she didn’t recognize anyone though. She sighed in relief, taking a sip of her water bottle before finishing the rest of her pretzel, wiping off her hands on her napkin. She tossed out the small container into the trash, sitting back down and continuing to sip on her water.
Alison nodded her head, continuing to eat her nachos and sip her drink. She threw her trash away after she was finished as well, eyes scanning the place until they landed on a booth only a little bit away from them. You had to knock all the cups down with a ball, and if you did you’d get a big stuffed bear. “I bet I could win you one of those.”
Emily glanced around, her eyes stopping to look at her girlfriend. “Could you? Let’s see what you got, DiLaurentis.” Emily challenged, smirking a little. She thought it’d be interesting to watch Alison win a stuffed bear for her, and she found it cute that she was willing to try that too.
Alison ”I will.” Alison took a hold of Emily’s hand once more, pulling her towards the booth. She grabbed a twenty dollar bill from her wallet, carelessly handing it to the girl behind the counter. “Keep the change. I’m planning on going as many times as I can to win one of these things.” The girl nodded in confusion, handing Alison the balls. The first few tries were unsuccessful, but on her ninth try she managed to knock down all the cups in one throw.
Emily widened her eyes as she saw how determined Alison was. She chuckled at the other girl’s confusion behind the booth, shaking her head. Emily crossed her arms and watched as Alison made eight attempts, holding back a laugh. Once she finally got them though, she clapped for Alison. “Way to go! Finally!” She joked. Pressing a kiss to her girlfriend’s cheek, she smiled over at her.
Alison grinned. “What color bear do you want, Em?” She asked, nodding with her head towards the arrangement of colorful bears that were hanging up all around the booth, just waiting to be picked. They had them in every single color of the rainbow, it seemed.
Emily shrugged, deciding on an easy one. “The purple one is cute.” She nodded before looking over at Alison. “Now, pick a game booth and I’ll win you a prize.” She said with a smile.
Alison took the purple one from the lady, handing it to Emily. She looked around for a game for Emily to play. “How about the ring toss?” She suggested.
Emily ”Surely.” Emily said with a nod, walking over to where the game booth was. She set down the bear next to Alison, paying the guy for the round. She began tossing the rings over to the plastic poles, missing one but was determined. After nearly hitting someone with the ring, Emily finally won. “Pick your prize, Ali.” she said with a smile.
Alison watched as Emily played the ring toss, a look of utter concentration on her face as she tried her best to win. She picked out a beautiful stuffed dog once Emily had won, grinning happily at the girl. “Where to now?” She asked.
Emily grinned back at the girl, taking her hand in hers since she picked the prize she wanted. Holding her bear in her other hand, she pointed to the Ferris wheel. “Wanna go there? Or I can drop off the prizes in my car so we can go on roller coasters and stuff.” She suggested
Alison ”Yeah.” She nodded her head. “To the car and then to the Ferris Wheel it is.” The two made their way back to Alison’s car, and put their prizes safely in the backseat so they wouldn’t get stolen or damaged.
Emily headed over to the car, setting everything in the backseat and then locked it as soon as the doors were closed. Heading back to the festival, Emily glanced around to spot the Ferris Wheel. After getting in line, Emily sat in one of the gondolas, pulling Alison with her so no one that was waiting around them would try to sneak on.
Alison let Emily pull her into the gondola, sitting down on the bench. She leaned over, whispering into Emily’s ear, “Such a romantic atmosphere in here, my darling.”
Emily couldn’t help but blush a little at Alison’s whisper. “Isn’t it? Just the both of us, no one to bother us.” she said with a smile as the worker made sure they were set and before she knew it, they were beginning to move up the ferris wheel.
Alison had always loved Ferris Wheels. It was always so quiet on them, so peaceful, and she loved it as they slowly got to the top, seeing the view. “It’s so pretty,” she murmured once they had gotten to the top, looking down at everything. And it was true- the view was absolutely breathtaking.
Emily nodded in agreement as they finally reached the top of the Ferris Wheel, looking at the view from above. Everything looked and seemed so small beneath them, and it was beautiful. She shyly scooted closer to Alison, resting her head on her shoulder as she slightly tilted her head to look up at her. She felt so lucky to be sharing this moment with the blonde. It felt like they were an actual couple for once, not two teenagers hiding it around town.
Alison It felt beyond incredible to not be shut away in one of their houses or out in public but with the other girls for once. And they blended right into the crowd- no one looked twice at them and their public displays of affection. Why would they? They were just two regular people. She rested her head against Emily’s as the girl rested hers against Alison’s shoulder, admiring the beautiful colors of sunset while the Ferris Wheel continued spinning.
Emily glanced out towards the horizon, enjoying this moment because it wasn’t every day that they could spend time like this without being questioned. It was peaceful and she was content when Alison rested her head on top of Emily’s as well. She didn’t know how long they were on the Ferris Wheel, but that didn’t matter to her either. Drifiting her eyes down to the platform when they finally landed back on the ground, she stood up and was about to take Alison’s hand, but froze when she heard Hanna’s voice just a few feet away.
Alison: “Em and Ali! There you guys are!” Alison jerked her body away from Emily as if she had been burned, turning her head in the direction of Hanna’s voice. There she was, standing with Spencer and Aria, whom were all waving excitedly at the two. She got off of the ride, staring in confusion. “W-what are you guys doing here?”
Emily crossed her arms, looking at the girls with a dumbfounded expression on her face. She nodded in agreement with Alison’s question. “Oh! We got a note! Silly, it was from you!” Hanna said, showing the small sheet of paper which was signed by A.
Alison took the note from Hanna, staring down at it in confusion. And she was totally right- the note told the girls to meet her and Emily here on this day, and had included the tickets. It had been signed A, so of course they would’ve thought that she was the one who sent it. She exchanged a wide-eyed look with Emily.
Emily sighed slightly as she read the note, her eyes peering over Alison’s shoulder. She glanced up to see Alison looking at her wide eyes. Emily gulped slightly, knowing that whoever this A person was, they were being watched.
Alison ”Yeah, um, I totally forgot I sent you guys that note,” Alison said, fighting to keep her voice normal. She handed it back to Hanna. “What do you guys say we go get some cotton candy? I could seriously use a sugar rush right now. I was up all night last night studying for this stupid Algebra II test. Math should be illegal.”
Emily smiled a bit at the girls, trying not to appear nervous. Chuckling a little at Alison’s comment about studying for algebra and how math should be illegal, she watched as the girls walked ahead of them, glancing over at Alison with fear on her face as the other girls chattered about school and how good it was to be out of Rosewood.
Alison ”So A’s contacting our friends now,” she whispered to Emily as the girls walked ahead of them. “God, I thought that bitch would be done after she basically ruined our summer.” Ali’s head was spinning. A’s plan had been nearly flawless, even Alison couldn’t deny that. The girls may very well have spotted Emily and Alison when they were kissing and figured out what was going on.
Emily ”That’s terrifying, Alison..” Emily said shakily. Sure, she didn’t care about others like she used to, but she couldn’t risk this, both of them couldn’t. Emily was going to try her best to make sure everything was secretive. “I’m sure they didn’t see anything because they would be acting more stranger than just excited.” Emily reassured. Watching as the other girls bought the cotton candy, she purchased one of her own and one for Alison out of instinct, seeing the looks on the girls’ face afterwards.
Alison ”I guess…” Alison shifted uneasily as they got into line and Emily paid for her cotton candy. “What?!” She snapped at them when she saw the looks on their faces. “I forgot my wallet at home, okay? You know, Han, maybe you shouldn’t eat the whole thing. Do you know how many calories are in cotton candy?”
Emily moved uncomfortably under the stare of their friends, trying to calm herself down, which luckily, Alison had under control. She nearly gasped at the words that flew out of her girlfriend’s mouth. “It’s just cotton candy, no big deal, you guys.” she said, trying to stop any fights from starting. She held the cotton candy between her and Alison, following the other girls as they began to walk towards the games area.
Alison ”This is insane,” Alison murmured to Emily as they walked towards the games, Hanna pouting like a kicked puppy and Spencer glaring over at Alison. “I wanna make that bitch pay, whoever they are. This night was supposed to be about, y’know, us- and now it’s turned into being just like every other Friday night with the girls.”
Emily ”It is insane..” she whispered back, flashing a small sympathetic smile to Hanna. She sighed softly in agreement, trying to find a way to see if they could still make the night just about them. “Well, we could… we could…” she said softly, trying to come up with ideas. “Um..” she mumbled to herself. She really didn’t know how this could turn back to them, but she suddenly realized that the girls came by themselves. “Maybe we can stay the night in a hotel. Just you and me.. they did drive themselves here, and I’m sure Spencer’s parents would love their car back tonight.”
Alison ”Yeah-” Alison nodded her head in agreement with the idea. They could spend a bit more time with the girls so as not to make them any more suspicious of what was going on between the two, and then when the night was over they could part ways from them and spend the night together. They’d had sleepovers at each other’s houses plenty of times before, so it wouldn’t be anything new, per say, but they’d have more privacy than they usually did. She flashed a smile at Emily. “I like that idea.”
Emily just nodded a little bit, turning her head back to the girls so they wouldn’t get suspicious. Spencer was in the middle of playing a game where you shot a target with the water gun and she was extremely concentrated and slightly scary because of how competitive she was becoming with the other players. “Wow..” Emily said slowly, giggling. Hanna and Aria were also watching, although Hanna looked utterly confused and Aria seemed to be bored, as usual.
Alison laughed as she watched Spencer squirting the target with her water gun. The look of utter concentration on her face was hilarious, eyebrows furrowed, eyes narrowed, lips pursed. “Yeah, get it, Spence,” she cheered, taking a small bite of her cotton candy. Finally, after what felt like forever Spencer picked out her prize and walked back over to the girls.
Emily watched as Spencer picked her prize, until she came over to the small group. Hanna nonchalantly said she was bored, and Emily shrugged. “We could just go on roller coasters?” she asked, watching as fear came across her facial expression. Spencer appeared to look excited and nodded before pointing out the tallest roller coaster in the whole festival. “I choose that one!” she exclaimed.
Alison A wicked glint appeared in Alison’s eyes when Spencer suggested they go on the tallest roller coaster in the place. If there was one thing she loved more than making fun of people, it was a good thrill. “C’mon, guys, let’s go.” She instinctively grabbed Emily’s arm, but then grabbed Aria’s as well so it wouldn’t seem as weird and began pulling them towards the roller coaster.
Emily ”Oh god… do you guys see that look in her eyes?” she said about Alison to the other girls, and they all laughed. Walking towards the roller coaster with Alison and Aria, they all doubled up. Aria sat with Spencer, Hanna sat with someone who was at the rollercoaster already, and Emily sat next to Alison. The ride operators buckled everyone in, and Emily held onto the bar in front of her, slightly nervous, but excited.
Alison grabbed the bar, staring straight ahead. The roller coaster started slowly at first, but then it went faster. It whipped them around corners, pulled them through tunnels, and even made them spin upside down. Alison was laughing and screaming at the same time.
Emily nearly lost her voice from how much she was screaming from the rollercoaster, especially when it began to pick up. She could feel the wind whipping through the air and nearly made her feel like her heart dropped into her stomach. It slowly went back around to the area where they started, and Emily felt a rush after it, her adrenaline pumping.
Alison ”That was awesome.” Alison took out her compact mirror, beginning to fix her blonde hair which had gotten wind blown by the ride. She turned around, giggling at what she saw. Hanna was cowering against the stranger who was sitting next to her, and Aria and Spencer were holding onto each other. “Alright guys, let’s go,” she announced, standing up.
Emily chuckled at how scared everyone was, although she could understand since the roller coaster was unlike anything they’ve been on before. The night continued and the girls tried different roller coasters and rides, until Spencer decided she had to leave soon since her parents texted her to see when she was coming home. Emily enjoyed the night with the others too, but she was still disappointed it got in the way of the time alone with her and Alison, and now they had to find some other way since the festival ended at a certain time.
Alison ”Yeah, I think we should get going too,” Alison said with a nod of her head, glancing over at Emily. “You guys drove here with Spence, right?” She asked Hanna and Aria, who nodded. “Alright, great. Me and Em will just drive home by ourselves, then.” The girls all hugged and said their goodbyes, and then after they had gotten into Spencer’s car and driven away Emily and Alison headed back to Emily’s car.
From being in the studio with Jack, to helping out his mother with the packing, Saul had been so busy that half the time he didn’t even get the chance to find out what was on his watch, until he crashed out last thing at night but by then it was too late. Luckily, himself and Hana had booked up a place away from it all which he was super excited about after spending the majority of the previous night packing for the week. Once everything was in one place, he carted it down to his car and threw it in the trunk. Setting off for the right location, he reversed out of the driveway.
The journey didn’t take too long, although he hadn’t made Hana aware that he was going there today, he sent her a text when stood on the porch of the beautifully structured house. Even though he put in a few of his awful puns, the door was already open for him from what Hana had said. Opening up by the handle, he walked into the house, trailing his case behind. “Han?” Calling out.
