PARADE GROUND - “I WILL TALK”
I was led to believe Parade Ground were some sort of EBM, industrial band--and apparently, they are, now...but most of their more recent music isn’t available online, sadly! Their first album, Cut Up, is very much not THAT, but it’s still really good. (See, I like both kinds of music: synth-pop AND industrial!) Despite being released in 1988, its bright synth lines and airy pop sensibilities make it feel much more like an early 80s New Wave album. It reminds me more of Talk Talk than anyone else, between the jangly guitars and the affably nasal vocals. I think “I Will Talk” is the hookiest and easiest to love on this record, but if you like it, check out “Cut-Throat Business” as well!
