Petrin was a renowned sculptor who carved sheep from clay so lifelike they came alive as one flock. Petrin, overburdened with lode animals, crestfallenly abandoned his art and became a shepherd.
Petrin had not sculpted in his long years upon the mountainside, instead attending to his unruly flock. Unfulfilled with his life, he plotted to create one final statue on moonlit nights while the herd slept.
Petrin toiled moonscapes to create his masterwork: a duststone self portrait that was so lifelike, it became him, and he himself fell into dust.
