they apparently stated about a month ago that the switch would not be backwards compatible. not physically at least. and i didnt know they used discs now? i thought they were still using cartridges and that that was one of the reasons their consoles arent backwards compatible in the first place because they werent universal or something. tho i may be wrong omg im not very nintendo savvy and i havent actually bought any of their games apart from old ds and gameboy ones and that was a looong time ago. ive never owned any type of wii either.

So is there a dragon in every town? Is the terminal connected directly to it? Does this mean everyone has to share one terminal like a public library?

There’s not a dragon in every town. There’s one sleeping dragon in D’Rana, and through the magic of... well. Magic (and a few hubs physically built by mages of Ivriarck and Qit) the dragon is “extended” to cover the whole planet. Ivriarck is the goddess of electricity and also has domain over what we might consider “wi-fi.” There’s no wires actually attached to any devices that people might use. 

And there’s no cable system, either. It’s much like our current 4G/5G network in the US, where the data just happens on your device. (Well, it doesn’t just happen, but to the layperson, that’s how it seems.) Devices are called terminals as, technically, all NET data that passes through them is connected to the one dragon. There are billions of terminals on Erit, and each of the main characters has one or two. 

A “cellphone” is a mini-terminal or MT, a “tablet” is just a ‘terminal,’ and there’s also terminals with higher processing power for gaming called Desktop Terminals.

What type of food do people eat in your world/region? is there some only few can afford?

So, food! With so many species (and more that I’ve added since those posts >_> let’s talk about what trolls like!

Trolls can digest literally anything, and in some areas are part of biological clean-up efforts. One cool thing about trolls is that they just don’t get sick due to an incredibly hearty immune system (More about that in another post, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while.)

And while they can eat anything, trolls--oddly for the misinformed--are pastoral. Different towns raise different types of sheep or cattle. Sometimes, live animals are sold or traded to other species, but most animals are well-fed, well-raised, and grow up to then be carefully processed by trolls themselves.

But as amazing as trolls are at the art of butchering, most of the meat they process is sold to others.

Despite meat being readily available in all other parts of Erit, there’s something special about troll-raised cuts. Smart people will buy directly from the trolls themselves, as market proprietors will buy up supplies from trolls and sell them at rather exorbitant prices--which most are glad to pay--especially liori.

One thing no troll cut will contain? Bones. Because that’s what trolls value over all else. Give them a good plate of ribs--minus the meat, of course--and they’ll say they’ve eaten like an elvish king. Some trolls even travel the world to order new and exotic bones, because they swear it’s all in the preparation. A cow femur on Kyrnis tastes completely different than the exact same meal on Rhogot!

As for meals only few can afford, yes. Because when people have money, even in a relatively social-based world, they will devise new and exciting ways to spend it.

Trolls will pay a lot for the bones of animals from energy relay planes (IE: static cows and wolves). You remember the Common Imp? The fae don’t particularly like them, thankfully, because some regions make a delicious, extremely expensive soup from their wings, and only the angriest of fae hives will retaliate. Chefs say the threat of retaliation is worth the risk!

Magic-infused food is common in elvish kingdoms, but there are some restaurants that people consider the best. And therefore, the most expensive! And if you aren’t particularly keen on meats, a special, rare type of truffle grows in the roots of Halcyon Oaks, which can be found in faun-occupied forests. They sell for quite a lot of minir in the proper season!
