PARALLEL UNIVERSES AND TIMELINE
Recently, I discovered several interesting film series on the topic of parallel universes and not chronological timelines. I want to share my discoveries with you:
1. Devs The series focuses on an astonishing theory about parallel possibilities of realities. It shows that we live only in one reality and every little action create the road. Making even a tiny action that differ is changing the path and creating different reality. That means that even a small thing defines the next one and the other reality could be totally different. Action mostly take place in special company branch responsible for Development and it’s a secret for the rest of the firm and world what are its the duties and projects. It appears that the restricted operation is the machine hidden in building in the middle of nowhere with several security systems, gold inside. The function of the machine is to show the picture and sound of certain event from past and shows possibilities of future. But what gives us the power and permission to know our future? What gives us permission to see the past? Are we enough straight and worthy to have the power over past, future, time? What will we do with that authority? What will we do with this power, how will we use it? Can we change past? Do we have influence on our future or we only follow the path already build?
2. Dark This thriller is firstly about children going missing and mysterious cave, but with every minute of each episode notice that the story is much deeper and messier. The story reveals the double life and tarnished relationships of members of four families, linking with events from thirty years ago. The main character is Jonas who part by part learns the secrets of the city and its inhabitants, finds secret transition between past and future and learns the truth about himself and tragic future. But can he change it? What is his story? What secrets the city hides? What is the future? Can he change it?
3. Into the night It’s the serial about the race with the sun, the race with time. When a catastrophic explosion in the sun occurs, passengers and crew members of the night flight from Brussels take the course west to seek shelter in dark running away from sunbeams. Watching the show, I started to ask myself questions about humanity, apocalypse and world. Is apocalypse possible? If yes, would we end like this? Is there any solution for that? Can we stop apocalypse or slow it down? Who will survive? What will be left after us? Will anyone remember us? Can we run away from something inevitable?
4. His Dark Materials It’s splendid trilogy of fantasy novels by Philip Pullman. It follows the coming of age of two children, Lyra Belacqua and Will Parry, as they wander through a series of parallel universes. The story is full of magic creatures, subjects and tales. Reading the book, I was absorbed in this amazing world. The author is leading us through marvelous land, where going into other pararel universes is possible and practiced. But like always there are some danger connected with the fact that gates through realities are opened. Because who is in fact permitted to travel between world? What power it gives? How we use it? Is this safe? Does people’s greed and hate and all the badness won’t cause destruction of others realities, cause wars, infect on others? How it will effect on us?
