Composed of three distinct fluid forms, each represents inspiration from the three Chinese calligraphy strokes: the thick ink, the half-dry and the smearing, the Palace Museum Southern Branch will present itself as an ink-dark, sensuous sculptural form sitting within the surrounding green rice and sugar cane fields. Rate the design from 1/10? Designed by Swedish architects, @wingardhs, Emporia Shopping Centre in #Malmö, welcomes visitors with a gigantic golden chasm. The diagonal entrance from Hyllie Station Square leads deep into the block. Inside, retail is organized around a three-story figure eight. Shops are grouped together around boldly colored atriums, each with a different theme. On the north side of the complex, a ramp leads into a rainbow-colored parking garage (for 2500 cars) with direct access to the figure eight. To the east is a surface parking lot (for 500) right outside the supermarket. Hexagonal pods interlock like honeycomb to form the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre, built by Zaha Hadid Architects in the Saudi Arabian capital #Riyadh | 2017. The modular honeycomb formation of the building allows for future adaption and expansion of the research campus. The faceted form of the cells is highlighted by angular cut outs in their flanks and latticed skylights.
