shoegaze is my favorite thing on this entire planet. i love when songs are so full of noise that you need at least 5 listens to decipher all the different melodies playing at once. nothing feels more transcendental than a bunch of guitars layered on top of each other with all kinds of crazy pedal effects. the noise takes up all the space in your head and you enter a completely now dimension. it is impossible to think about anything else while listening because your entire body is so occupied with processing the music. i love when i cant figure out the lyrics even after a hundred listens. they can mean anything i want. it feels amazing to discover something new in a song, even after months of having it in your playlist. the wall of noise feels like warm summer rain, slowly enclosing you in a seperate reality where only sound exists. nothing on this planet makes me feel so many emotions at once, i feel nostalgic, alone, embraced. the roles are reversed, the music is listening to me and the depths of my soul. the noise can express everything that i could never have found words for.
