Propaganda for "Geni e o Zepelim": "While Chico sings the song in his album and the song is his, Geni e o Zepelim is a song he wrote for a musical called Opera do Malandro. While having some outdated [stereotypes] Geni e o Zepelim is about a trans woman (Geni) and sex worker and her anger and frustration over a town that despises her during the day but seeks her in the night. It was a song released during the Brazil's military dictartoship (even of by the end) were trans woman and sex workers were both erased from society and talking about them [heavily] censored. The whole song is an angry daydream and it has multiple covers including theatrical versions and is extremely popular and present in the popular imaginary of brazilians to this day. There is even a movie being made based on this song! Also Buarque is just really really talented and does a banger job on writing songs that hit not only by his voice but by the tempo and different instruments present."
