Master: By what light do you see? Disciple: The sun by day, the lamp by night. M: By what light do you see these lights? D: The eye. M: By what light do you see the eye? D: The mind. M: By what light do you know the mind? D: My Self. M: You are the Light of Lights. D: Yes, I am That.

Mestre: Através de que luz você vê? Discípulo: O sol de dia, a lâmpada de noite. M: Por que luz você vê essas luzes? D: O olho. M: Por que luz você vê o olho? D: A mente. M: Por que luz você conhece a mente? D: O meu Ser. M: Então você é a Luz das Luzes. D: Sim, eu sou Isso.

Os rios sagrados, que são apenas água, e os ídolos, feitos de pedra e de barro, não são tão poderosos como o sábio. Pois enquanto aqueles só podem tornar alguém puro no decorrer de incontáveis dias, os olhos do sábio, através de um simples olhar, purificam de imediato.
