did any of your many parents/guardians used to calm you down after a nightmare?
Ah yes, my childhood nightmares. Just what I was looking forward to talking about.
Does it seem so abnormal to you to imagine my parents comforting me after a nightmare? Of course they had. I was never the type of child to go crying into one of my parents rooms after a nightmare, I found it much more effective to scream bloody murder until someone came to get me. Yes, I have always been that dramatic.
Usually, Mum would be there first to pull me into her arms and try and talk me down from whatever visions were playing in my head. She can be quite good at that in all honesty, and she would normally stay with me until I fell back asleep. Sometime she would sing, or tell me stories from when she was a girl to coax me back to bed. As hard as it seems to be for you all to believe, Mum is a very affectionate person.
With Father it was always a little different. He did his best.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt asking this. I know my parents aren't exactly known for their sweetness, but they did there best with me.
That's why I turned out so perfect.
