Last night a parent said that she can tell I'm in the right place because she sees how "genuinely and instinctually" my heart cares, shown in my interactions with the kids.
I almost cried!
I feel like all teachers experience the underlying fear of not feeling like they're doing enough/doing things right. I think we are, gotta remember to give ourselves grace. We're all only human.
My dad @ me when I was 250 pounds:
-too much eat.
-eat again?
-maybe lose weight?
My dad @ me while trying to lose weight: *on a diet
-you’re not eating a lot? That’s not healthy!
-you’re exercising too much!
-here eat more!
My dad @ me now while 190 pounds: *one day off my diet
-eating again????
-you eat too much!!!
The reason why I’m overweight is because of those fucking comments in the first place. Eating in front of my parents especially my dad. So I ate at night when people were in bed. I already have self conscious battles within myself. I don’t need more and it already pushes my buttons. I’m fucking tired of it
