Dear Parents of kids who want to play online games, if you're going to let them play online games, then you can't just let them go on online games unsupervised. You NEED to teach them internet safety 101.
1. Never tell anyone your name
2. Never tell anyone your last name
3. Never tell anyone your address.
4. Never tell anyone your school.
5. If someone asks you your age, you block them.
6. If someone is being mean to you, report and block them, and then tell your parents about it.
7. Only allow voice chat with friends your child knows in real life. No voice chatting with strangers without your supervision.
8. If someone sends you messages that are sexual in nature, you need to let your parents see that, so they can block, and report that person.
9. Remind your kids that they are talking to strangers, and that they have no idea who the person on the other side of the screen is. No accepting friend requests from strangers and certainly not without your approval.
10. Absolutely DO NOT click on links that someone may have sent you.
11. If that person is over 18, block them immediately.
12. Never give anyone your phone number.
13. Do not send pictures of yourself to the person you're playing with.
14. Do not tell anyone how old you are.
15. If your child is old enough to stay home alone, they are not to tell people that they are home alone.
