RICK OWENS FW 2017/2018
Paris Fashion Week 2 March 2017
RICK OWENS FW 2017/2018
RICK OWENS FW 2017/2018
Here is a celebrity post. I feel like writing for a Closer magazine right now. For his fashion show during the Paris Fashion Week Rick Owens had some heavy weight international celebrities sitting in the front row: the awesome singer Alicia Keys, the designer Vera Wang (I love her !!!) and the bombastic Nicki Minaj (whom, believe it or not..., I didn’t know before). Nicki has 76 MILLIONS of followers, only on Instagram, it’s amazing that I didn’t even know who she was. She was the center of attention the whole night.
Now, if we discuss about clothing, Rick presented a very edgy collection. This is typically a show that outsiders of fashion world would never understand. I can hear them saying “those clothes are weird ! No one can wear them !” Well actually they are right, no one will ever go out in the street dressing up like his runway models. The show is made to entertain and to visually explain the idea behind the collection. After a few seasons of very dark collections, Rick was inspired by spirituality and this collection was very much related to that. Some silhouettes gave an illusion of an ancient priest doing a sacred ritual. the In reality his pieces are totally wearable. I love Rick Owens. I have Rick Owen’s leather jacket and a coat and I love them so much I think I will keep them forever.
Vogue wrote something interesting that sums up Rick Owen’s Fall 2017 Fashion Show in Paris:
For the lay person, this could look like fearsome stuff. And maybe not even his witchiest clients are likely to wear his Fall collection as he put it together here. For them, the takeaways will likely be the earthy colors and the designer’s clever ideas about sleeping-bag dressing. A quilted down cape in bottle green was straight-up cool, and the wrapped and twisted swaddling shapes will have a trickle-down appeal. The puffer jacket will still be going strong next Fall, thanks to him. Many watchers saw a lighter, more easy-going Owens in this show. I’m not so sure. What I am convinced of: He’s Paris’s master of ceremonies.
