Did a bit of refashioning the other week that I'm pretty proud of. I'm so happy wide leg and flare jeans are "in style" now, whatever that means anymore.

I’m going to make a vi tattoo shirt (inspo & references down below) but I don’t know what to put on the front. Do I just put the VI Roman numerals or another gear type thing or something else? Lmk!! Also the shirt im using a maroon/dark red color!
(Not my photos btw)
1940s refashion! Before pic at the end. Originally the brown part was a 40s repro that I’d kept trying to fix, but the pattern wasn’t very good. So I took it apart and used a true vintage 40s bodice and 60s skirt patterns, as well as new mustard fabric, to make a new dress!
The scallops on the skirt were drafted, and I borrowed pockets from another pattern. I had the buttons in my stash; they were just the right shade👌Best part is it still matches my vintage (midcentury) brown hat! Here’s how the dress looked in its previous iterations lol.
I was sort of inspired by the particolored dresses from the medieval era, and the 40s did it too!
Next sewing project: Frankenstining two small pants into one pair that fits! I love upcycling my old clothes, and these colours are perfect for the season. The zipper is on the oppisite side on the other pair, so I'll have to figure my way around that... I'm hoping to complete these today. Remains to be seen how overly optimistic that schedule will be!
Clown sweater friend!
A 2nd iteration of clown face sweater. Friendly face is added onto a thrifted fuzzy sweatshirt with upcycled fabrics and vintage buttons for eyes.
