"Mind Control is a useless ability because enemies do massive damage to you but no damage to each other"
The Free Aimbot Specter Ability whose damage output you can charge up by as much as +3000% (and whose AI behaviour is overwritten by the one that governs Duality/Celestial Twin) is one of the most underrated abilities in Nyx's kit, especially since it also let's her hijack Eximus abilities to use for herself and allies.
#Nyx Prime#Paris Prime#Dreamers Recordings#3 shots from the Paris Prime (none of which were head shots) and I still added 1300% bonus damage to the gunner's shots#The gunner then took out the other gunner is 3.5 seconds (Absorb blocked a good chunk of the shots‚ artificially extending the time to kill#In a group‚ the closest 9 enemies at enemy given time are completely stripped of armor and shields#So any Mind Controlled enemy just tears through them one by one just like in this video‚ then I recast Psychic Bolts and repeat#Chaos ensures the enemies are always in-fighting‚ the enemy under Mind Control front lining and drawing aggro while mowing down enemies#Meanwhile I'm sharpshooting from a distance. And when I need to get in the mix‚ I Assimilate and take the fight to them#DE has buffed Mind Control 3 separate times instead of listening to Nyx players or giving her an proper overpass#But this means Mind Control is *actually* good. You just have to know how to use it#For the record‚ Mind Control's dmg multiplier doesn't scale off of anything but the dmg you pump into the target as you Mind Control them#So my build only has 125% ability strength for 100% armor & shield strip and none of that strength affects Mind Control#If I added Mind Freak‚ the controlled targets would be even stronger but I find the innate Mind Freak to be perfect as is without an augmen#The only Warframe who can match this is Nekros and his Shadows of the Dead + full armor strip Terrify (but he can't strip shields)#Revenant's Thralls‚ however‚ DO suffer from the ''cannot kill the enemies they are now aligned against'' issue#This is because 1.) his Thralls are not invincible and can be killed by his teammates or by enemies and 2.) he has no defense strip ability#Oh and this wasn't meant to refute the 'deals massive damage to you part' but I just realized that I activated Assimilate to protect myself#So like no‚ in the context of Nyx and her entire ability kit‚ this entire argument has been incorrect for the past 5+ years#But I still see it made‚ even to this day. To the point where I had to go to the sim and finally test it out to see how Mind Control fares#Btw none of my weapons are Incarnon Genesis save for Paris. I just like to rock the starter weapon set and didn't bother changing for this#If anything‚ her ''worst'' ability is her best ability: Absorb. But only because it's only useable with the Assimilate augment#Which makes it god-like. But in its base form? Its a worse version of Defy/Antimatter Drop#Which is crazy‚ because those abilities prove DE knows how to make good Damage Absorption abilities and chooses to not fix base Absorb#Mind Control? Psychic Bolts? Chaos? All very good abilities.#Base Absorb? Serviceable at max range to turn yourself into a portable defensive sphere at the cost of all movement#And at that point‚ you've basically turned yourself into a micro Cataclysm. Limbo is right there. Without Assimilate‚ Absorb is mediocre#Let's talk about that instead of spending another year talking about how Mind Control is bad (incorrect)
