Sis called to ask if we would like to have cakes for dessert. She was at Paris Baguette Singapore in Northpoint City with her friend. The cardboard box holding the cakes was stylishly designed but they can afford to since their small cakes are all selling at around S$10 each. Anyway, sis bought two short cakes 🍰 for us to try.
Mango & Lemon Mousse Cake (S$9.60), a tantalizing combination of sweet mangoes 🥭 and zesty lemons 🍋, beautifully harmonized in a fluffy mousse. The lemon-coloured mousse sat on a thin layer of cake 🍰 while the top surface is decorated with two swirls of whipped cream, glazed blueberries 🫐 and a triangle piece of a lemon. The mousse is bright, tangy and sweet which edges you to continue devouring until the dessert is gone.
Just being covered in chocolate is already a big plus for me. Yes, I love chocolate, especially the seductively dark and bitter kind. Paris Rocher (S$10.60) is hazelnut mousse cake 🍰 layered with vanilla sponge, nougat, hazelnut cream and coated with chocolates 🍫 and crushed nuts. A swirl of hazelnut cream, sugar glazed walnut and an inedible gold ribbon is all it need to convince me to dig in with the spoon.
