Selective humanity seems to be a growing trend in this world. All I can see is an outpour of love for Paris; indeed the situation deserves much love. I see an abundance of profile pictures changing by the minute as I open my Facebook now to show the flag of France. How lovely to show solidarity with Paris, where are the flags for Beirut that had the worst terror attack in years the night prior to the atrocious Paris attack? Where is the solidarity for those killed in a terrorist attack while mourning their loved on at a funeral on Friday in Baghdad? What about all the terror attacks this year? What about the daily terror attacks in Syria murdering scores of civilians?

It is a nice gesture to change your profile picture, I am in no way condemning anyone, it is beautiful to see love, I just feel rather disappointed the outpour of love does not happen for other attacks in our world. That is all.

Believe me, I know it is so tragic that this has happened, and indeed it is a horrendous and such a massive attack in Paris that has happened. I do not mean to not sound caring, I just feel equally for the attacks that happened within 24 hours of the Paris attack murdering innocent souls. My heart also goes out to those people across the world who are experiencing terrorist attacks frequently and trying to flee to safety from such attacks.

If you want to care for humanity, then care for humanity as a whole; that is the meaning of humanity. All religions and countries included. It is not a fashion statement to jump on board with solidarity; which I feel it is to many. If changing your profile picture for solidarity makes you feel good about yourself, then great. Kudos to you. How about you have a think though, do you change your profile picture for solidarity with every single terrorist attack in the world or just when it is in Europe.

These acts or terror across the world are equally as horrendous; the terrorist who picks up a gun to murder children in a school in America to the person who detonates explosives at a funeral in the Middle East; it is all terrorism. Do not be selective with your care. This is a big problem and breeds more hate.

The world needs love only.
