Ocean Path, Acadia National Park
Beneath a Moonless Sky
I lucked out this month (August 2017) with perfect weather during the new moon cycle in Acadia National Park in Maine, and was able to get out and shoot in the park two nights in a row. The first night I drove along the park loop road, and spent a lot of time sitting on cliffs in the dark between Thunder Hole and Otter Cliffs.

I stood on a cliff in Acadia National Park today, officially starting the 2017 season. I’m looking forward to another amazing season in Down East Maine, Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor.
Over the next 6 months, I plan to hike 100 miles in the park with my camera, hopefully hitting all 26 peaks, and to share my adventures with all of you. Acadia is also known for is Dark Skies and minimal light pollution, making it an ideal location for milky way photography, and I’m excited to return to some of my favorite locations, as well as new ones this year.
