Did I or didn’t I?

I had to see a guy at his office today about a thing. I hadn’t met him before, but he was really nice and very funny, we ended up talking a lot after we got the thing done. There’s a follow-up thing (just signing papers) that will have to be done in person, and without thinking, I said, “Maybe we could do that at a Starbuck’s or something so I won’t have to find a parking space.” His office is in a very constricted area with tons of businesses and almost no parking, and I had to circle around for nearly half an hour before I got one today. He said something like, “Yeah, that would be good,” and then we went on.

After I left it occurred to me that my suggestion could be taken more than one way. I really was only thinking about the parking, but did he think I was asking him out for coffee?

Was I? I liked him. My usual reaction to meeting a guy that I like is to run as far away as possible as fast as possible. Yes, I do realize that is not the way to develop a relationship, but ... never mind.

He has my number. What if he calls? Maybe he’ll just email me about the paperwork when it’s ready. Then I can go to his office, parking mess be damned, and keep it all on a business footing. That would be best, right? Right?

Cue panic attack in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...

Just got to work,  parking is terrible.  Maple tree over at the edge of the lot goes "park here we'll watch your car!!" Super excited. 

I'm like isn't this spot a little tight?  

"You're in the lines and we'll keep the car safe don't worry" 

I thank the tree for flagging me, pull in as gently as I can, and head in to work. At the end of the night, when I got back to my car, there wasn’t even so much as a bird crap! 

The tree has a bouncing energy when I return, and is telling me “Look, it’s perfect!”

So I seen Tuesday night date, last night. Went over to his place. He lives pretty close to.me, it took about 10 minutes to get to his house.
