Here are a few photos Parris Goebel and her crew the Royal Family used after hanging out with her on Friday for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. -----Parris Goebel, an award winning New Zealand-born choreographer, dancer, and now singer, leads practice at Backstage Dance Studio in Las Vegas Friday afternoon. Goebel is 24 and nominated for 3 VMAs for the choreography for Justin Bieber's music video, Sorry. Monday, Aug. 8, her single "Friday" drops apart of her new music venture. Parris and her crewThe Royal Family will be in Las Vegas at Hip Hop International to watch the release of the video, the competition they will be competing in that they have previously taken gold the past three years. -------------—---------—------- I lost sleep the night before meeting Parris and her crew because I have followed the young choreographer for years. I wouldn't count myself as someone who get star struck, but it was more so the intense desire to capture The Royal Family as best as I possibly could. Friday afternoon came, and I was greeted with a warm hug and kiss on the cheek from Goebel, cute as can be with two diamonds shimmering on her upper incisors making her smile even that much more endearing. Arguably the fiercest choreographer of today, moved about her crew mates with a relaxed leadership of encouragement and quiet orders. She would change steps on the spot, but never with out a please or a thank you and then the talented dancers would pick up the new choreography in a moment. Claps roared often in the studio, clearly proud of how far they have come and ready to preform this week for Hip Hop International once again. It was an absolute delight to spend just a few hours with Goebel and the Royal Family. (I edited these not for the Review Journal for for standard print, but personal style.)
