Uncovering Fables
Chapter 1 Part 1.3
The moment a new person wandered into the bar, Clayton Ward couldn’t help but glance over at them. That’s when it happened. It always happened. Clayton gasped as visions flashed before his eyes.
More memories. More tales filled his mind. Swinging in a playground, writing late in the evenings and being held by a loving editor. Crying long hours as they had to stop what they loved. An entire person’s history was told in just a split second.
Clayton could have prepared for this but whenever someone walked in unannounced, that was when the real troubles began. He couldn’t prepare mentally for that. Grabbing hold of the table, he heard the woman in front of him ask something but Clayton was unable to understand her. His ears were hearing the bartender giving encouragement to talk to someone.
Clayton twitched and he curled up on his booth seat, as he grabbed his pounding head. A tingling sensation spread across in skin as something grabbed hold of his shoulder. Clayton looks over to see a black, inky hand grab hold of him tightly. No. No, not this again. Not another panic attack. He was doing something important. He couldn’t be back here. He couldn’t!
Clayton tried to stand up but he was pushed back to his knees by a figure of ink like substance. He looked around and he froze as he realized that he was no longer in the bar. He was nowhere. His spine chilled as he realized that he was in a darkened area. Was it a room or an area that went far out in every direction? It was too dark to tell.
Clayton tried to hide in his jacket as he put on his hood but another hand ripped it off his scalp, pulling his hair. Clayton squeaks out and his shaking body began to sweat. His stomach twisting onto itself, Clayton looked around and almost sank into himself. Surrounding him was five dark bodies that towered over him as Clayton wasn’t allowed to stand. One of the body’s stood behind him, holding him down. Clayton tried to stare at the ground to allow the attack to pass but another body stood in front of him. His hand pinched Clayton’s chin and he was forced to look up at them. Clayton stared into the figure’s eyes, shaking.
The three other body’s, circled around, almost giggling. They looked at each other before they turned their attention to Clayton. Their voices echoed in his ears.
“Clayton. Where is your friend?”
“What happened when you left to explore those caves?”
“Did the snow kill him?”
Clayton felt tears swell in his eyes as he opened his mouth to speak. Before he could say anything, the middle figure’s voice boomed and echoed throughout the room. “Why do you lie?”
The other figures joined in. “That isn’t what happened.”
“What really happened?”
“Did you kill him.”
Clayton shook his head. “N-No… No. I didn’t. I-I could-” A figure slapped him across the face and tears started to roll down his cheeks.
That’s when a golden light shone from behind Clayton as a door creaked open. Clayton glanced behind him and saw a dark creature standing at a doorway that wasn’t there a minute ago. Clayton tried to get a closer look but he was forced back to looking at the figures. They continued to taunt him as Clayton closed his eyes.
Persona 5: Post #1 part 1.3
D: Take Yusuke to a doctor
.
Akira put Morgana in his bag and took Yusuke to Takemi Sensei’s doctor’s office.
It took them some time, and they had to stop frequently for Yusuke to catch his breath.
When they arrived, Akira banged on the door and Morgana scratched it until Takemi Sensei finally opened it.
“What- what are you doing here!” She sounded angry, but when she took one look at Yusuke, she scowled but let them in.
Without even having to ask, she handed Yusuke a basin. At once, Yusuke pitched over it and coughed up a mouthful of sick.
Akira looked at her in surprise.
“What? Look at him. He’s as green as a frog.” She said plainly.
Yusuke laid on her examination table and Akira sat in a chair while she checked him over.
“It’s most likely a virus. I’m prescribing him something that should help his fever go down and should be easy on his stomach. He needs lots of sleep and fluids so he doesn’t get dehydrated. He should recover in two to three days.”
When Akira took Yusuke back the the coffee shop, he put him back in bed and Yusuke fell straight to sleep.

Part 1.3
Life in the circus
Plume was first when the show ended and everyone came to line up for criticism. He picked at his nails anxiously, eyes darting everywhere but the flylofts. Madame Rosswelt came up to the line with a sneer. Her presence was prominent when she entered, dark hair slicked back in a bun and uniform ironed to the point of looking unnatural. She held her hands behind her back, similar to a military commander. She stopped at Plume.
''I expected better from you, but I guess you just weren’t ready. I’ll get Kayla to take your place next show. I don’T know why I even bothered to have you train if this was how you were going to perform. Go help the others clean up. That’s enough mistakes for one day.''
Tears pricked his eyes, his shoulders suddenly feeling ten pounds heavier.
''I'll do better! I-I can do better next time…'' his voice trembled with the faded plea.
''There won’t be a next time until you make no errors, stop talking back to me..'' She decided firmly before moving down the line, delivering judgemental feedback as though everyone had personally insulted her.
Plume felt a soft hand on his hunched shoulders, the thumb rubbing delicate circles on the itchy fabric of his uniform. Seval came. He always did.
''I’m sorry. I-I wasn’t good enough. I messed up. The rope got caught and I panicked and… I don’t know. I-'' I wasn’t ready. They were right.
Seval shushed him, patting his back.
''It’s ok. Go clean yourself up and come back for clean up.''
He urged him to an exit to the caravans, though he stopped him before he got too far.
''And for the record, I’m proud of you.'' He consoled, a weak but encouraging smile tugging at his lips before he moved to the next person, who looked like she needed a hug.
Plume sat on his bunk, fiddling with a feather he had found the day prior. It was so soft, so fragile. A single brush the wrong way could mangle it so easily. He ran his fingers along the quill, rubbing the downy feathers between his fingers. He sat up from the bed, crouching to the shared side table. Behind Allen’s secret snack stash, he pulled out a small wooden chest. He sank on the bed, the mattress creaking tragically. Opening it, he placed the new feather on top of all the others he had collected. Finding birds near the circus was far too rare, unless they were used for performances. Oftentimes, when Plume has the chance to see one, it would fly away skittishly. His mind wandered to the memories he had of life before the circus. Even then, he felt trapped, roaming the streets. Now he had support inside the cage. He wondered what it would be like to fly into the sunset, to venture off without the shackles of the human mind. His head snapped up at the sound of the caravan's door opening. In rushed a distressed Nolan. Plume tucked the box under his pillow quickly, scooting over and patting the spot next to him on the bed. Nolan hesitated, glancing out the window, before he took wary steps and sat down.
''I know I’m new and all but… is Rosswelt always so… intense, after a show?'' He asked, hoping maybe that because he was a newcomer that he wasn’t used to it. To his dismay, the other nodded.
''She’s never not intense'' Plume smiled, though it held a knowing pain. ''Wanna talk about it?''
Noland shook his head. He kept his eyes on the floor, ''is it ok if I just sit here for a while?''
Ok but Min appreciation post for his last POV in Scattered Sunshine Part 1.3—
My boy has been in the deepest depressive episode he’s ever been in since his first year in Vira. He has a breakdown with Ray like 30 minutes prior, and he finally comes out of his room to play a game. Because you know. That’s what they were supposed to be doing. Playing outside versus Min having a panic attack that led to a breakdown.
And my child is trying so hard to be fun for Ellen, because he can’t stress her out more, and they all changed plans to play in the backyard for him, so now he really can’t back out—
Anyway, Ellen and him split teams to essentially play ultimate frisbee I dunno. Thought of it on the spot okay. And then Ellen and him are team captains. Min’s team is Ray (hyper child), Lao (anorexic child), and Juni (has a wheelchair).
He’s barely recovering from his previous panic attack, but he’s all making sure Lao has eaten, because he doesn’t want Lao to over exert himself and pass out on the field. And then he has like zero experience with wheelchairs (all of them have zilch experience) and Juni is struggling to move in the grass with his. And he’s like wait hold up I don’t want Juni to feel like he’s left out—
And so he comes up with the idea that Juni can come up with a strategy, since he’s really good at that. And Min just helps Lao and Ray know how to throw a frisbee, while Juni mulls over a plan, and then while they’re practicing, he goes over and asks for his plan, which Juni spills (of course it’s great).
But Min can tell that Juni is insecure about his position with Ray, so he gives him a pep talk that he can tell Ray doesn’t really hate him, but is more confused.
And Juni can tell Min is embarrassed about some things, so he gives *him* a pep talk that he could kill a man (no idea of his past) and this family would be like ‘you’re a lost puppy who needs cuddles’ because that’s how they treat Juni, who nearly killed all of them. And it’s confusing, but Min doesn’t need to worry about their judgement, because they’re not like that and they get it too.
And then they all play the game, and Juni is essentially a cheerleader with another player for each round, an idea Min comes up with because he doesn’t want Juni to be alone.
And they all play for a long time, and that’s the end to Min’s arc in Part I. That before he made some friends and people he feels are family, but now that family can become bigger and the best part is—they’re people that understand his experience as a fourth caste person, won’t judge him, and are around his age.
Something he hasn’t had since Emiko’s supposed death
And now I have feelings on this hella long bus-ride

love (n.)
Old English lufu “feeling of love; romantic sexual attraction; affection; friendliness; the love of God; Love as an abstraction or personification,” from Proto-Germanic *lubo (source also of Old High German liubi “joy,” German Liebe “love;” Old Norse, Old Frisian, Dutch lof; German Lob “praise;” Old Saxon liof, Old Frisian liaf, Dutch lief, Old High German liob, German lieb, Gothic liufs “dear, beloved”). The Germanic words are from PIE root *leubh- “to care, desire, love.”
passion (n.)
c. 1200, “the sufferings of Christ on the Cross; the death of Christ,” from Old French passion “Christ’s passion, physical suffering” (10c.), from Late Latin passionem (nominative passio) “suffering, enduring,” from past-participle stem of Latin pati “to endure, undergo, experience,” a word of uncertain origin. The notion is “that which must be endured.”
In Middle English also “an ailment, disease, affliction;” also “an emotion, desire, inclination, feeling; desire to sin considered as an affliction” (mid-13c.). The specific meaning “intense or vehement emotion or desire” is attested from late 14c., from Late Latin use of passio to render Greek pathos “suffering,” also “feeling, emotion.”
