The doctor's in?
Here is Dr Astig!!! I finally drew him after like, forever!! (i drew this traditionally before digitally, but yeah :)
The top left one is the final, right top 1 is flat colour, and the other 2 are the detailed ones, differant versions of both of them, colour wise.
But yeah, besides that, i actually like this one, more art coming soon!! :)))
What if the reason shy theres no hotdaga in the recent postmortems is because Shane is too busy creating a new season of ruining history? And he has no time to write the hotdaga? And the animation budget for the hotdaga is going towards editing ruining history? What if??
You sent me this so many times, I wonder if you ever saw that I’m on a semi-hiatus and said I was not going to answer stuff until I felt like it. It makes me feel bad, because you really wanted me to see this, and I’m sure you are not going to like my answer. And that’s because–
He has said nothing of the Hot Daga, just that he is searching for a way to “end it” properly, said to a fan during the event he co-hosted in his hometown in April. Shane has said nothing of Ruining History, but his panelist and girlfriend, Sara Rubin, said that
(x)
The season is written, too. Garrett Warner co-wrote it with Shane as he said on his website and said that
(x)
Maybe I’m just too negative now, I feel like I don’t have the energy to be as positive as I used to. But with all this information and Shane’s silence, I think we are not getting that second season soon. I’m sorry.
What are your thoguhts on thorin telling Fili that he would be king one day in dos while they were in lake town? (I personally hope its because thorin was 💯 gonna marry bilbo)
you know i 100% would love to believe that, but i think at that particular point thorin wasnt even expecting to ever have the luxury of just… giving up the crown and riding off into the sunset with bilbo. for thorin, kingship is a burden, but it’s not one he believes he deserves to walk away from - in AUJ, when balin reminds thorin that they dont have to go on this quest, that thorin has done so much to rebuild a life for his people and that it could be enough, and thorin says “there is no choice. not for me.” i think that line speaks volumes about the level of duty thorin feels bound to - and so, when he tells fili that he’ll be king one day… it’s not a happy gesture. he’s telling fili about the sacrifices he’ll have to make for the good of his people, and that he’ll hate it, but he’ll understand. thorin has lived 200+ years of fucking tragedy and part of why he comes across as so hard and stonelike is just a protective measure. he doesn’t want this for fili (or for kili), they’re his sister-sons (and in many ways, he behaves almost like their father during the quest). but he can’t protect them from it either. so he tries to warn them. to prepare them. hoping it will be easier for them than it was for him.
i don’t think thorin particularly expects to survive the quest, and whether he lives or dies, he doesn’t expect the luxury of marrying for love. and it’s so sad because he deserves it. bilbo lights a fire inside him and opens his heart so you can see how full of light and love and softness thorin really is - under the expectations and the rage and the trauma is a much younger thorin who had a family he loved and was proud of. i could write all day about how bilbo brings out that softer side of thorin, but he also ignites bilbo in the same way - they’re both such fiery souls, tempered either by grief or by propriety but it would be such a glorious sight to see them freed of that. unfortunately we only get to see that in the briefest of moments (cough acorn scene cough)
moreover, if thorin did believe he was allowed any selfish happiness, how could he ask that of bilbo? how could thorin, whose life was torn apart by the loss of his ancestral home, ask bilbo to leave his own home to stay with thorin? how could thorin abandon his people, how could he leave erebor immediately after fighting tooth and nail for it?
i’m not saying any of this with the belief that a happy ending wasn’t ever possible for them, i absolutely think they could have worked their shit out and been together and been in love and been free… but in DoS? they don’t know that. thorin doesn’t know that, even if he knows he’s in love (i do believe thorin realizes he’s in love long before bilbo realizes his own feelings).
thorin telling fili “one day you will be king” wasn’t about bilbo, it was about the tragedy that was thorin’s life long before he met bilbo, and he’s trying his fucking best to make it easier on his nephew by at least being able to warn him. not because he plans to walk away and leave it all to fili to deal with, but because he knows he won’t survive it forever.
