Yuzuru Hanyu x Koichi Domoto 'Switch Interview' Part 1
Translation credits to @/marika_yuzu on X/twt:
Yuzu’s commentary on SEIMEI at NHK Trophy 2015:
- it’s a youthful & energetic performance
- the synchronization with music is sloppy
- the moment he woke up that day, he knew he was going to do well. At the start of the 2nd half, if the jump combo went well, he knew that the rest would be fine. He landed 4T3T so he felt relieved
- if he were to perform this now, the direction of his gaze would be different
- he wouldn’t do fist pumps now during a perf like he did then after the final jump (3Lz). Maintaining the worldview is important
At the end SEIMEI commentary, Yuzu said he’s doing more difficult things now; 4 quads as opposed to 3 in 2015.
Dōmoto-san: “Expressing this using weird language… What the heck are you aiming for?”
Yuzu: “Well, yes- I feel the same. I don’t know it myself. What’s my goal?”
Yuzu has a complex: He says "his arms & legs aren’t long when Dōmoto-san complimented him on his long limbs?! Yuzu: “Really, I have an inferiority complex about my short arms […] My legs are lengthened with the help of my skate boots.” (@/marika_yuzu)
Koichi went to Ice Rink Sendai to watch Yuzu during a practice session that was meant for improving his explosive power. There are bits and pieces of Yuzu practicing and here is some of the music he used:
Google Translate is really dragging me along here. As you’ve heard from the intro. I’m not fluent at all, so this is only partially (and inaccurately) translated, but I’m trying my best!
I left out things that I couldn’t even imagine translating, and I put square brackets for context purposes. This was kind of hard considering he interchanges Hiragana and Katakana, and there are some kanji and context that I don’t understand at all. Oh well, I’m doing my best to learn and contribute to this community!

And it was a power pro-game!?

I wanted to see a home run of a black jewel who came down to Jingu Stadium!
[I don’t know what “black gem” is referring to or whether this is even close to the actual meaning.]
アイデンティティ v の勝率がさがってくーーー!

Bombinha: He has a super-explosive temperament! Boom! Explosion!
Artist: He paints out the ideas for thousands of crimes, but his most perfect work is “The Sunrise Square”.
Sentimental: He cries at movies about bandits and good boys. Because of his feelings for the villain, of course! He has a soft heart but lives hard!

Stories of the Beagle Boys That Made History...
The first Beagles that made history were the Metralhitas from the Stone Age.
In ancient Babylon, Mesopotamia, the Metralhabucos were engaged in high blows.
In the year 62 AD, those who dominated Rome were the dangerous Metralhus.
The Metlalhins belonged to the time of the Mandarins. They personally did not follow the Confucian philosophy, which led to much confusion.
It was in the Middle Ages, when Metralhad, the King of the Bandits, held meetings with his cronies around a round table to make their plans for attack.
Hazzard, the ancestor of Unlucky Beagle, and his Metralherik brothers, were thought to land the Norman coasts in the time of the Vikings.
Because they liked to play the bagpipe so much, the Macheltrahas, in 1192 Scotland, spent a lot of time evading the police.
Arriving in the seventeenth century in France, we found the Tres Metralheiros, who had a beautiful motto: “One for all, and...each one for himself!" that they spoke when fleeing.
With the emergence of the car, in the late nineteenth century, the Metralhafords made furor in the United States by attacking water stations. But their cars were steam powered!
Special question: the cast of Ajin was asked to create a message using the letters IBM (originally, IBM stands for "Invisible Black Matter").
Mamo’s answer:
Itsudemo (= always)
Boku wa (= I)
Massuru bodei (= muscle body)
*laughs*
Aya’s answer:
I like him
But I think so
Mamoru Miyano (Kei) is crap.
Mamo: The meaning is a bit...
Takahiro: Hahaha!
Hiroyuki: Crap?
Mamo: Don't screw with me!
Aya: Miyano-san is great but my big brother...
Mamo: But this "I like him, But I think so..."
*laughs*
