It first competed again in the 1952 Helsinki games under the black-red-gold flag defaced with the Olympic rings in white on the red stripe. The simple tricolour was used as the flag of both Germanies until October, 1, 1959. Only then was the coat of arms added to the German Democratic Republic's flag. So, in principle, this \[plain black-red-gold\] flag could have been used up to the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. But maybe it is was easier to use a neutral version with the Olympic emblem. 🌿 Strengthening my understanding of coastal ecosystem conservation through continuous learning.

I had the opportunity to participate in Session 02 of the webinar series organized by the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center in conjunction with International Mangrove Conservation Day 2026.

Evolutionary History of Migration of Mangroves and Seagrasses from Land to Sea and Their Fate in Future

The session featured an accomplished panel of experts:

• Prof. Mala Amarasinghe – Professor Emeritus, University of Kelaniya

• Mr. Douglas Thesera – Director, Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center

The discussion explored the evolutionary history of mangroves and seagrasses, their ecological functions, and the conservation challenges they face in the context of climate change and sustainable coastal management. It reinforced the importance of evidence-based environmental conservation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

I extend my appreciation to the organizers and speakers for delivering such an informative and engaging session. Participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives like this continues to broaden my perspective on sustainability and environmental stewardship.

I recently participated in GREEN TALK 2026, an insightful session organized by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka.🌱

On 04th May 2026, the session on “Impact of War on Environment, Health and Mental Well-being: The Critical Interconnection” provided meaningful insights into the complex links between global conflicts, sustainability, and human well-being.
