A Motorcycle is the Amalgamation of Different Parts
Do you belong to the group of people who consider the motorcycle as a family member? Would you go that far as to even dump your partner just for the thrill and joy of riding? Do you often snub your friends, so that you can spend some quality time caring for your bike? We are guilty for such heavy perceptions but then whoever have experienced the excitement and speed of the open road and the wind hitting against the face, there is nothing else that really matches up to that exuberance!
Motorbike owners use it as their usual means of transport. A motorcycle and its parts are not viewed separately and it is the parts that determines the quality of the bike. The maintenance of each individual part is crucial for safety when on the road and hence, it is best to leave it for the Pompano Pats’ Daytona professionals. But, to satisfy your curiosity, the different parts of the engine is described below.
The Cylinder Head: It is a part of the engine, which is constructed out of either aluminum alloy or cast iron. It’s function is basically to seal the top of the engine cylinders in order to form the combustion chamber.
Cylinders: Depending on the make and model of the bike, a motorcycle can have up to 6 cylinders. The cylinders are cast from iron and are able to withstand really high temperatures. For the proper movement of the pistons, the cylinders offer a sealed space. Depending on its size, the engine’s power can also be measured.
Pistons: The movement of the connecting rod is driven by the piston. It moves up and down inside the cylinders. Through the movements of the piston, the combustion gases are transferred to the connecting rod.
The Connecting Rod: The space between the crankshaft and the pistons is covered by the connecting rod, also called piston rod. The rod is specifically designed to transform the up and down movement of the pistons into a rotating motion. The rods are usually made of aluminum, steel and titanium.
The Crankshaft: The shaft that is joined with the connecting rod is called the crankshaft. The motorcycle chain and the wheels are set in motion due to the rotary movement of the crankshaft.
Spark Plugs: The parts that are a part of the ignition or combustion system are called the spark plugs. The chemical fuel energy is converted into kinetic energy by the combustion engine due the spark created by the plugs.
The Engine Valves: The engine valves are an important part of the motorcycle’s engine, since it is responsible for controlling the passage of air and fuel to and from the combustion chamber.
The motorbike parts can be divided into two categories: OEM and Aftermarket parts. The parts and accessories can be used for maintenance or to upgrade the performance of the bike. The new parts from Pompano Pats’ Daytona come with a manufacturer’s warranty and is equipped with innovative technology and features for the ultimate riding experience.
