The Gondolin party is over, I can finally show you guys the heraldry I made!

I had a LOT of fun making them as different from each other as I could. Our team captain used them here.

In order : House of the King (Turgon), House of the White Wing (Tuor), House of the Golden Flower (Glorfindel), House of the Fountain (Ecthelion), House of the Mole (Maeglin), House of the Harp (Salgant), and House of the Hammer of Wrath (Rog).

And with that I fill the Turgon, Glorfindel, Ecthelion, Maeglin, and Free Space slots of the Gondolin bingo!

Team Gondolin Spirit Challenge submission. The Idril symbol is on a screen because hereff said it's alright and around it u can see all my Tolkien books (including the amazing Silmarillion that oropherrrrr gave me), my ring, the Eye Of Sauron pin and the lovely excellent bookmark that damegorthaur made for me which I love so much!

i'm super behind on the readalong but today is the last day of my team's spirit challenge so here's my tolkien collection!! it's kind of pitiful right now but it is GROWING. my copies of the lotr books are my grandma's from 1978!

Last day of Gondolin's Spirit week.  

  “No wall stood there, but on either hand were two round towers of great height, many-windowed, tapering in seven stories to a turret of bright steel, and between the towers there stood a mighty fence of steel that rusted not, but glittered cold and white.  Seven great pillars of steel there were, tall with the height and girth of strong young trees, but ending in a bitter spike that rose to the sharpness of a needle;and between the pillars were seven cross-bars of steel, and in each space seven times seven rods of steel upright, with heads like the broad blades of spears.  But in the centre, above the midmost pillar and the greatest, was raised a mighty image of the king-helm of Turgon, the Crown of the Hidden Kingdom, set about with diamonds."

    Today's challenge is a death-defying online escape route.  There will be questions for you to answer, the answer will have a link for you to follow to a new question.  At the end your answers will spell out a final question for you to answer.

I made a few rhyming couplets describing Gondolin's fall, enjoy!

Oh Gondolin, the city hidden Where Morgoth's darkness was forbidden Far away from prying eyes Unknown to even Morgoth's spies Surrounded by thick walls of stone Where Turgon sits upon his throne The last kingdom, proud and tall Which hasted to its mighty fall Filled with halls great and vast But its peace was not to last And one day, a messenger borne, A mighty message sent to warn That Maeglin's lust was all too high And the city's doom came ever nigh But Turgon ignored Ulmo's calls And chose to stay within the walls Then Maeglin betrayed the secret city But he was killed in shame and pity Many perished in flame and fire For Maeglin's heart had hot desire And all crumbled in wrath and flame Tumbling down the stone walls came There was killed, Turgon the king Who ignored the message of white wing By Balrog hand, many were slain And Turgon's work was all in vain But a few escaped through Idril's way And a red sun rose on a new fresh day

A few of my Tolkien books for the spirit challenge!

I procrastinated on this challenge as I wanted to do something "fun". Well, this is as fun as we're going to get: Maeglin and Tuor making awkward chitchat at a party.

I know Tuor should be blonder, but he is played by Playmobil!Durer, who kind of was, so it's Playmobil that messed up, not me. And Maeglin is, of course, wearing armour he made himself. Look at all those spikes!
