she can’t contain the relief that washes over her when her brain finally processes that he’s okay. she lets go of the tension in her body, slumping against the seat, one hand still resting against his arm. ❝ i didn’t think i was going to be able to do it. ❞ the adrenaline was wearing off and she was starting to shake. why was she shaking? he was the one that should be shaking. she wasn’t the one hit with an arrow. but, the thought of losing him — thinking that he would bleed out in her arms — was too much for her to bear. ❝ are you sure you’re okay? should i find malcolm? he probably has something that would help. ❞ // cont. from [x], @pasdoux

                   while a kind soul at heart , tessa knew what julian did was wrong . he shouldn’t have erased simple emotions , even if they were attempting to tear apart his relationships . she was thankful that he knew better now and that she didn’t have to play the great-great-grandmother card on him . but that wasn’t why the expecting warlock was here , she was to be taking kit with her and her husband jem , to look after the continuation of the herondale line . to protect him , “ julian , is there a chance we can converse in the hall ? ” her voice soft as she looked into the room , full of a happy family , one she didn’t want to disturb . “ i wanted to say goodbye , and to assure you that kit will be safe with jem and i , we will take good care of him . ”

          the  need  for  sleep  hides  itself  in  the  shadows  beneath  her  eyes,  and  in  the  tangle  of  her  hair  ------made  all  the  more  mussed  in  tossing  and  turning  as  she’d  chased  the  elusive  slumber.  cristina  cares  about  julian  as  she  does  for  his  whole  family,  but  they  are  not  close,  not  in  the  way  she  is  close  with  emma,  and  she  wonders  if  this  concern  is  simply  politeness.  it  doesn’t  stop  her  from  sitting,  blowing  a  breath  out  that  swirls  the  strands  hanging  around  her face.  if  there  is  to  be  no  sleep,  then  perhaps  there  can  be  conversation.     ❛  there’s  ---  no,  not  something  specific,  really.  ❜    this  is  a  half-truth.  there  are  all  manner  of  thoughts  that  plague  her mind  and  stave  off  the  grip  of  sleep.  but  she’s  not  ready  to  speak  them  out  loud.    ❛  what  about  you  ?   what  is  keeping  you  up  so  late  ?   is  everything  alright  ?   ❜

       helen is SILENT a long moment as she regards her brother with curious eyes. she knows that things have changed since the last time they saw each other. they’ve both been hiding so much. julian, the extent of arthur’s illness and the parabatai curse. helen, just how MISERABLE she’s been on wrangle island. she’s often thought of jules as a kid. he’s always been mature, somewhat solemn in nature, but he’s still her little brother. now, she sees him as the MAN he’s becoming.
