Pasqal x Rogue Trader / Pasqal x Von Valancius
Listen… I love him so much. I want him to be my toaster wife. Let’s uh rewrite that scene where he (bridge dialogue options spoilers)
shows you his stigmata, but with more affection and giving the reader a slightly different backstory than the ones the game has to hoist upon you. Kind of like a diary perspective too.
Also I’m a femdom irl, so expect all my self inserts to be similar. This is PG though.
I hadn’t always loved machines. As a child, I found them too tedious to comprehend. Yet, I was too intellectually gifted to be satisfied with the life of an interplanetary noble. The cog-like patterns on the robes of our voidships technicians intrigued me. More than once I had been chastised for pestering the technomats with too many questions about the cogitators and machinery they worked upon. When my Father publicly lashed the Priest who dared to suggest that I may make a prime servant of the Omnissiah, I vowed to never to one again.
Now, with my Father and Aunt dead, I was in the position to have almost every curiosity of mine sated and by a Magos nonetheless.
It took only a few minutes for him to meet me in my chambers. I sat behind my wooden desk, arranging the requests in the order I wished to do them in, while knowing I had limited control.
“Lord Captain.” The familiar voice of the Magos addresses you formerly as he offered an approximation of a bow. His mechadendrites betrayed his calm nature, remaining stiff when usually they flowed with excitement.
“Arch Magos. Thank you for joining me.” Standing from my chair, I walked past him and waved, inviting him to join me in the lounge area. I heard his mechanisms oblige and felt his gentle presence behind me. Once I patted the cushion next to mine, he sat. His back had an almost unnerving hunch that caused his shadow on the wall to look like a crescent moon.
Oh, his eye. I cherished the times I looked towards him and he met my gaze. At times, the corners of it crinkled as though he could smile.
I am happy to report that this was one of those times.
“I apologize for diverting you from your task, but I had some questions that I would rather we discuss in private.” With a wave of my hand, all the enforcers manning my lounge left the room.
“Of course, Lord Captain. What is it you would like to inquire?” His voice had a stagnated quality as I knew he translated from his religion’s native language to Low Gothic.
Biting my lip, I considered every thought my obsessive mind had about him, but decided on one most pressing. “Abel…”
As I said the name, the front of his eyebrow shifted down, giving his boyish face the facade of a stern expression.
“What is the nature of your relationship?” I felt my cheeks flush as I asked him something so indignant. It was none of my business, but so was nothing else I wanted to ask. And I certainly didn’t wish to ask it if he was already bonded.
His expression softened into an apparent confusion that didn’t seem to take into account my reddening. “Our relationship is: good.” He seemed to smile once more as he thought about the younger Tech Priest.
Choosing my words carefully, I specified. “By the way you spoke of his harmonies, it was almost as though you were smitten by him.”
The sclera of his eye reflected the blue water more as he started to realize the weight of what I was saying. “‘Smitten’ by his words and perhaps my the inner workings of his mind. I can’t say I have ever been ‘smitten’ by one’s appearance. Perhaps when I was younger I looked up to the elder Magos in a way that would seem like attraction to the non-initiated.”
“I see.” Giving myself time to ruminate on his words, I kicked my feet. A sorry habit from childhood. Never became tall enough to reach the ground on most chairs, especially not ones meant for my almost Amazonian Aunt.
“May I tell you something about my attraction, Lord Captain?”
“Go on.” I bit the inside of my lip, readying to be let down easy.
“I care more for one’s convictions than their flesh to metal ratio.”
Tilting my head, I found myself encouraging this line of thinking. “And what do you think of my convictions?”
“The strongest I have ever known.” His hand wrapped around mine and I squeezed back. The cool metal of his augmented finger penetrating my bones. We sat in a comfortable silence, looking at each other from the corners of our eyes (or in his case, ocular implants) as we smiled. I could even see a pale pink color light upon his cheeks. I’m sure there was a much darker mauve upon mine.
“May I tell you something about my attractions?”
He tilted his head down and closed his eye.
“I have this desire to know what your augments look like. I know it is forbidden for those who are not initiated to see, but my heart yearns to understand what it looks like to ascend beyond flesh.”
Every word I spoke seemed to gratify him more as he turned towards me. Metal fingers tracing the edge of the inner parting of his robe, teasing me.
“That is true, but your lofty title of Rogue Trader more than justifies my wish to satisfy you.” Slowly, he parted the red fabric, revealing the holy mechanisms within the carapace of his white flesh.
My hands reached forwards but stopped, knowing that this was already a privilege. His mechadendrites swayed in harmony. Closing his eyes, he nodded. “I can always cleanse my machinations later. For now, we are both servants of the Emperor, and you understand the Omnissiah.”
Echoing what he taught me, I explained how the Emperor was humanity’s incarnation of the greater being. How humanity mimicked the beauty of machines, but without their endurance nor power. All the words I had come to love for the meaning of them told me that I could be his, even if he was on a journey to ascend from the flesh I desired to keep.
“My calculations tell me that you would make a fine initiate, but your path is no longer mine or yours.”
Reaching out, I carefully traced everything that didn’t seem too fragile to touch. Surely these tubes full of blood and nutrients were reinforced, but to feel them between my fingers was a power for which I was not ready.
“We both live to serve and respect each other’s higher powers. It’s no coincidence that we find ourselves…”
“Smitten?” He addended and I affirmed.
