I can’t help but love the message that this video shares. This video is packed with viable points and observations that most people would acknowledge, but feel helpless to alter. There is even acknowledgement that a single person will not rewrite our path as a society, but the doings of each individual will act as a small push towards making the masses move.

I have continued to view a few more of Prince Ea’s videos and they are quite fascinating and eye opening. If anyone is interested in view more of his work, you can follow the attached link. I hope that this video and any others with similar messages help lift the fog from our minds and our eyes, even if just for long enough to make the changes necessary. In keeping with promoting kindness in the actions and socializations of others I present to you a series of questions that you can ask yourself in order to analyze your own situations and determine if you feel you are doing well, or need to work on your efforts. This isn’t to say that I am wondrous at this and everyone isn’t, it’s simply a tool I am offering to those who may be interested in taking further steps. Here we go:

1.       What is working well in my life right now?

2.       What is one thing that would have a large impact on my life if I STARTED doing it today?

3.       What is one thing that would have a large impact on my life if I STOPPED doing it today?

4.       Will I look back later and feel I did well/what was right or kind?

5.       How would that make someone feel? How would that make me feel?

6.       Is negativity necessary in the situation?

7.       What can I do to help the situation?

If you’re looking to bring about (more) kindness to yourself or others these may be some of the questions with which to start. Make a few honest notes and just take some time to consider your situations, actions, and options. Maybe you’ll come up with a master plan, maybe you’ll only start with a few steps, progress is still progress. I wish everyone happy journeys.

John Sweeney shares his personal experiences and struggles and what lead him to start a movement called “Suspended Coffees”. He talks about the start of the movement and the feedback he received during those first few years. For anyone interested in learning more about the Suspended Coffees movement I have attached a link to the website for you to view.

I think that John spreads an inspirational message that everyone is capable of giving kindness, and that everyone is in fact willing to be kind when shown/given the opportunity. I highly recommend giving this video a watch. His stories, theories, and inspiration are quite profound and very moving.

I guess the last little bit has just been a string of inspirational scenarios for me, as I seem to keep ending up passing inspirational ideas on to you guys. So today get ready for another one.

Now, before I originally started this project I did a bit of research on the concept of random acts of kindness and made a list of potential ideas for days I got stuck. Well today for anyone who has been looking at taking up a similar project I have found a video with a few ideas to get you started. These are all simple, most are free with a few low cost ideas thrown in as well. Some may even look familiar to you as ones that I have completed in the past, or maybe you have even been on the receiving end of them, but whatever the case it is still a good starting point. So happy viewing, I hope that you can find some inspiration within the ideas, and maybe even generate some of your own to carry out.

While at work today I had an older gentleman approach my til. He began unloading his cart and then handed me one of our employee’s business cards stating that that employee had been really helpful today. While ringing through his purchases I told him that I would pass along the message to management for him. I finished ringing his purchase through, he paid and then headed on his way. Shortly after I went over to my manager and informed her of the message the gentleman had told me so that it could be passed along to the proper employee. Today’s random act of kindness: relaying appreciative comments.

While at work I had a customer come up to my register along with someone from the floor as they were getting approval to override a price. After giving me the new price the staff member left to go on her lunch. After the transaction the customer expressed to me how she wanted to say thank you to the staff member for her help. I told her that I would pass on the message. When the staff member came back from her lunch I managed to catch her and reiterated the customer’s thanks from earlier. She was pleased to hear the comment, and I hope it helped make her day just a little bit better in hearing her work was appreciated. Today’s random act of kindness: relaying appreciative comments.
