What are the best ways for you to relax after a long day?
After a long day, huh? I don't really know, sunflower, but thank you for the ask. I missed them :)
In the past few years I used to sit on my bed and play video games w/ my switch. It was mainly Fortnite (it was 2017, who didn't play it?), Asphalt 9, Hades, etc
Lately though, ig it's changed. I've started to pick up new hobbies and I exchange them depending on what I'm in the mood for after a long day.
Today, for example, I'm doing technical drawing practises. It's nothing extravagant, just simple isometric shapes, tbh it's more of a hobby.
Other days I enjoy reading, drawing, journaling, writing, watching movies (not that much of a fan of series though) or just listening to music. When specially stressed I do go back to videogames on my pc, though currently I like Hades II and Dredge :)
Whatever I do, the important thing is that I can relax. I tend to get frustrated sometimes with my hobbies, so I do make sure to stay calm and try again (e.g. right now I couldnt get an image of the piece I was working on and jad to restart the whole thing – ciao half an hour of work)
Another important aspect is the ambience. I like turning off all the lights or only having small warm lights on, making myself a nice coffee or hot chocolate, some nice music, maybe put on a sweater and a scarf, etc.
To answer your question, what are the best ways for me? Probably reading, playing video games or making some ✨️ mood boards✨️ , since they're the less stressful. I'm not an artist or a writer, so when doing so I do tend to be a tad too self critical, or am simply on edge all the time. That's why I take refuge in reading a nice book (though sometimes I get sore if I stay too many hours still), playing videogames for an hour or two and making mbs (Pinterest is my little peace sanctuary, hahah).
Almost forgot to mention, but sometimes taking a break is nice too. If I've not been out during the morning, sometimes I'll hang out with friends or family, whether it's going out to play billiards, or listening to a vinyl together in the living room.
