You were sore. Scratch that, you were beyond sore. Your body was aching in ways that you never knew it could.

Your throat was scratchy, and it hurt beyond words to just swallow. Though, there was no saliva left in your mouth to help coat it when you did, which made it even worse.

The smell of a familiar cologne and whiskey surrounding you made you realize you weren’t in your room. But what had your attention the most was the fact that you were waking up feeling as if you were coming out of one of the deepest dreams you ever had. Because not only were you sore, but you felt like you weighed over a thousand pounds.

Once your eyes had the motor skills to actually open, you saw ruffled white sheets and a pillow with a dip in it laying in front of you. Clearly someone was laying next to you at some point, and the smell gave that person away.

Every move you made caused pain and made you want to collapse back in bed. But for the first time in days, your stomach was actually growling at you, begging for you to give it some food.

So though it was hard, you pushed your body to keep moving down the hall, curving through the bunkers maze as you made your way to the kitchen.

The clatter of some dishes had you searching for whoever was in there as you entered, and it was quick to spot Dean near the fridge.

As he pushed the door shut with his elbow, his eyes caught you standing in the doorway and a smile quickly grew on him.

“Morning.” You forced a smile back, having trouble feeling any happiness with the pain you were in. “Come, sit.” Dean rushed over to the table, pulling the bench out slightly for you as you dragged your feet in that direction.

Taking a seat, you scanned the kitchen, keeping your ears open for any other sounds coming from within the bunker. But it was dead silent.

“Where’s, Mason?” your dry throat made your voice beyond raspy. Dean sounded like you when he woke up six feet under after being dragged out of hell, so he knew you needed a drink of some kind to sooth your throat.

“Uh...with Sam.” Dean was quick to grab you some ginger ale from the fridge and hurry back to the table. “Fishing.”

“Fishing?” He nodded, pointed toward the drink he just got you, urging you to drink up.

“Yeah. We had some poles tossed in one of the closets, but...you know, we never have time for that stuff usually.” You swallowed down some of the soda, loving how it felt against your throat.

“And there’s a creek right up the road.” Dean could see a type of sorrow wash over you and it pained him to see you like this.

“You know...” he slowly took a seat on the bench opposite of you, his eyes scanning you cautiously as he rested his elbows on the wood table. “I may not know exactly what you’re going through, but I know enough that when you need to talk...I’m here.” You tried to force a smile, but it faltered quickly and your gaze stayed locked on the empty table.

He didn’t want to force you into conversation, but since it was just you and him, he was hoping to get you to open up at least a little.

“Sam told me that you feel like a bad mom.” he caught your eye roll and your head dropped as it swayed from side to side.

“I am a bad mom.” your broken voice drifted over to him.

“No, you’re not.” he shot back, a certain thickness in his voice.

“Yes, I am.” you brought your gaze back up, tears pooling in your eyes.

“Y/N...” Dean grabbed a hold of your hand, getting a good grip so you would focus on him. “You have raised that kid by yourself for nine years, and he is one of the most bad ass kids I know.” Your lips pressed together as tears began to overflow and slowly glide down your red cheeks.

“When he called me that day, he was trying so hard to protect you. He could have just ran off and found somewhere to hide, but he didn’t. He fought, because that’s how you raised him.” That day flashed through your head, making sobs begin to rack your body.

“You are an amazing mother.” To hear it made you break. As a parent, you don’t always get confirmation that you’re doing good, and after what had happened, you were sure you were a failure.

In the distance you both could hear the bunker door slam shut, and that pulled you out of your crying fit.

You quickly wiped at your face, Dean’s eyes glued to you the entire time wanting nothing more than to reach over and pull you into his arms.

“Mom?” Taking in a deep breath, you forced a smile on your face before standing from your seat and turning to see your son for the first time in awhile.

“Hey, baby.” As he ran into your arms, Sam smiled from a few feet away while Dean just sat there smiling softly from his seat.

“Are you feeling okay?” You chuckled as you pulled away, your smile growing as you looked down at him.

“Yeah. I’m feeling a lot better.” you sighed, running your hand through his hair. “But don’t worry about me. Did you have fun?” you changed the topic quickly, and he went from being concerned to ecstatic.

“Yeah! We caught a huge fish! I mean, it was almost as long as Sam’s leg!” Sam laughed softly behind you.

“That is big.” you agreed, giggling at his excitement and stealing a glance at Sam.

“Yeah. But, I’m gonna go change cause I slipped in some mud and got my pants dirty, so..” he wrapped his arms around you once more, holding you tight as if he wasn’t going to see you again for awhile and then took off for the hall.

“Thanks, Sam!” 

“You’re welcome, bud.” Sam smiled after him until he was no longer in sight and then he turned to you, clearly seeing that you had been crying before they came in. “How you doing?”

“I’m good.” you nodded softly. “Better.”

“Good.” Sam had a gentle smile as he looked at you, but when he glanced toward his brother he quickly got the hint that he wanted to be alone with you. “I uh...I’m going to go change too. Smell like fish.” he shrugged before ducking out of the room.

With his footsteps retreating, Dean pulled himself up from his seat, his eyes on the doorway for a moment more to make sure he wasn’t going to be interrupted and then his hand gently grazed your arm, grabbing your attention as he moved in front of you.

“I just don’t want you keeping all this to yourself, okay? It never ends well.” A soft smile pulled at your lips. “And I don’t want you thinking that just because it was Matt that it’ll be too awkward or that I won’t want to listen.” he added carefully. “I’m here to listen and to help you through it. Alright?” Sucking in your bottom lip, all you could do was nod.

“Okay.” he breathed softly, both his hands sliding up your arms as he leaned in to place a gentle kiss to your forehead. 

“Try to eat something.” he added with a smile as he pulled away and left the room.

 “Dean you can’t sacrifice our friends! Tell them to come back!” You yell smashing your fists against Dean’s chest.

“Too late. No turning back. It will end here and now. Follow me and you see what Sam will become.”

“He can’t be worse than what I became…” The younger Dean says bitter. Seeing your desperate and shocked features he wants to smash his own face.

“Dean, please we still got time to stop this insanity!” You plea.

“No, you and he stay here. I’m sorry but our friends are all lost. I love you.” Your Dean whispers before kissing you softly. Holding you tight for a moment he locks eyes with his former self.

“Please don’t go Dean. What if the colt won’t work? Please don’t leave me.”

“I can’t stay, it’s too late. It will end today, either way, it ends today.” Dean says before turning to leave.

Leaving you behind he walks toward his destiny. Starting to shake you try to hold yourself upright. Knowing this was the last time you saw the man you love.

Waiting…you can’t just stay here and wait for him to die. Making your decision you start running, your only goal is to stop Dean. You can’t let him sacrifice his life to defeat Lucifer.

“Wait up!” The other Dean calls after you.

Reaching your goal you see the man you love falling to the ground, lifeless, broken.

Tears well up your eyes when you run toward your lover. Kneeling in front of his lifeless body you look up at his brother or rather Lucifer wearing Sam as his suit.

Crying you rest your head on Dean’s chest while your soul shatters into pieces. All what was left of your former self died in the moment you saw Dean fall to the ground.

You’ve got no will to fight or to live left.

“Why did you do this Sam? The colt didn’t work – right?” You sob.

“No, of course not. Who are you little girl?” Lucifer asks smirking.

“No one…I’m no one. Without him, I’m no one.” You whisper.

Raising his fingers to kill you with a simple snap he grins when he sees the younger version of his last victim approach.

“Ah, did the angels send you to see what the world becomes when you refuse to say yes?” Lucifer asks smiling.

Not answering Dean only looks at his dead self and you. Your desperate sobs break his heart. He can barely bear to see your pain shaking form.

“Let her go. You’ve got what you wanted.”

“Fine, she’s broken anyways. No need to kill her. The poor girl won’t survive a day without the love of her life. Right?”

“I’m going to change the future.” Dean spats.

“No, you won’t Dean. You won’t say yes to Michael and you won’t kill Sam.”

Clenching his fists Dean stares into the face of his brother. How could Sam say yes?

“I’m going to change the future, no matter what you say! I can do it, together with Sam.”

“No, you can’t. Whatever you try to do, nothing will change the fact that we always end up here. I win. So, I win, my dear big brother. Take the girl with you; I’ve got no use for her. But the corpse is mine. I see you in five years Dean.” Lucifer says smiling devilish.

Picking you up Dean carries you back to the car, holding tight onto him you can’t stop crying.  

“Y/N, I promise I’ll change the future and I promise I’ll find you. I’ll never leave you alone ever again. I’ll find you and we change the future together.

Lucifer will not win, we won’t let him win. We can defeat him…together…”

Opening the door of your motel room your eyes widen. Two huge men are standing in the doorframe. The shorter one smiles at you as if you should know him.

Hunter, a hunter is always able to acknowledge another hunter.

“What can I do for you?” You ask, hiding your gun behind your back.

“Hi, Y/N. I’m Dean Winchester and this is my brother Sam. This will sound weird and you might not believe me but I already know you from our meeting in 2014.

“Very funny.”

“Please let me explain an angel sent me to the future to see what happens…”

After he explained what happened your eyes widen and you don’t know what to say. That guy is obviously nuts. But there’s something in his eyes that makes you remain calm.

“And I shall believe you? I loved your future self and you fell in love with me in the future after an angel sent you there?”

"You gave me your number, name and you told me a secret only you can know," Dean says.

“Okay, try me.”

"The reason you're hunting…the first monster you killed was your little sister after she turned into a vampire. Not even your parents knew the truth. You never told anybody it was you killing her after she killed three innocent children in your neighborhood." 

Eyes widen you stare at Dean Winchester mouth agape. He can’t know this, you never told anybody about it.

Smiling Dean makes two steps toward you to crush lips onto yours. As odd as it sounds his lips on yours feel familiar.

After breaking the kiss Dean looks at you hopefully. Trying to calm your racing heart you lock eyes with him.

“So how can I help you defeating Lucifer?”

The end?...maybe...or maybe there will be a sequel...

 Weeks has passed since Dean told you about his brother Sam and his plans to kill Lucifer. You’ve got the feeling he’s hiding something from you.

Sighing you sit in his hut checking some information according the colt he’s looking for. The weapon really is powerful. But is it powerful enough to defeat Lucifer?

Engrossed in a chapter about the fact that there are five enemies which can’t be killed by the colt you don’t recognize Dean is entering the room. Slamming the door shut he storms into the hut.

Turning around you need to rub your eyes to believe what you see…two Deans?

“What? How? Shifter? I thought they are all dead?” You ask confused.

“No shifter, he’s me…my past me. An angel send him here to make him see what happens when he refuses to say yes to Michael. Keep an eye on him. Let no one else see him!” Dean orders.

“Sure, Boss,” you snap at him.

Your harsh tone let him flinch and his features soften for a moment. Nodding you look at the restrained younger version of your lover.

“An angel send you here?” You ask softly.

“Seems so. Zachariah, asshole first class,” Dean chuckles.

You know this is the younger version of your Dean but he seems different. Not so broken and rough. Maybe with a bit more hope?

“Dean? Did your Sam already say ‘yes’?”

“What? Sam would never…oh wait…that’s what my other version is after – right? The preparations, the colt. Sammy said yes?”

“Wait! He found the colt? Why didn’t he tell me?” You wonder.

“Sammy said yes?” This version of Dean seems to be heartbroken at the realisation.

“I’m afraid that’s the truth. Dean … you… I mean my Dean told me so. He said he wished he could’ve stopped him.”

“I send him away…left him alone. No…he said yes.” Dean whispers.

“You said you saw my Dean making preparations?”

“They are loading cars and Dean packed the colt. Whatever he’s planning they will strike tomorrow.” The younger Dean says.

Sighing you sit next to him on the ground. “He didn’t say a word. I …”

“I guess he wants to protect you, that’s what I would do, but this version of me…I don’t know him good enough. He killed one of your members without hesitation.”

“Wait. He killed…but why?”

“Croats. He said the guy got bitten.”

“I see.”

Wiping away a tear you remain silent. The younger version of your Dean is studying your face. He knows why his older version likes you. There’s something in your eyes, a spark of light. Even in this desolated world there’s a light in your eyes.

“So you and I? A pair?”

“Huh? Oh…kinda…only inside these walls.” You whisper.

“To keep you safe?”

“Maybe…”

“I can see why.”

“Won’t work, I can’t let you go. He gave me an order, I’m his assistant after all, so sorry Dean, even if you are his younger self I can’t let you go.”

“Maybe I rather stay here and enjoy your company?” He says smiling and your heart aches.

You can see this Dean went through a lot too, but there’s still a carefree piece inside of him which your Dean lost.

“Trying to charm me?”

“Does it work?”

“He lost this…”

“What?”

“The smile, even when he’s smiling it’s … don’t know…”

“We should’ve met earlier, I guess.”

“Which year are you from?” You ask.

“2009.”

“Wow, five years and such a difference, losing Sam must’ve destroyed a big part of him. He tries to but …”

Bumping his shoulder against yours Dean looks at you. There’s a light in his eyes, hope, your Dean lost this light…

“2009 … so many bad hunts in that year.” You say.

“A hunter too?”

“Guilty.”

“Do you think I should say ‘yes’?”

“No, playing by the angels rules sucks. The winner will destroy the world too, I bet.”

“Any suggestions what I can do?”

“Call you brother, stick together. Don’t let him go Dean. Maybe it will end here either way then you’ll at least have me. But maybe you can save your brother and the world.”

“I know why I like you,” Dean rasp leaning closer to you. Cupping his face you kiss him softly. Moaning he opens his mouth for you, sliding his tongue with yours.

After breaking the kiss you’re panting, biting your lip you open Dean’s restrains.

“He’ll get mad.”

“Well, he lied to me so we are even. I need to stop him and you need to find a way back to save Sam and the world.”

“Wait. What’s your name?” Dean asks.

“Y/N/N. I’m a hunter and my number in 2009 is …” Writing your number down Dean smiles at you. Pushing you against the wall his kisses you roughly.

“When I call you. Will you believe me?”

“Well…I’m going to tell you something only I can know and no one else…”

Searching the camp you see Dean putting his gun into the holster at his thigh. Watching him preparing a battle without even telling you stings in your heart.

How could he hide the fact he’s going to fight Lucifer? He could die; the man you love could die. Would he have left the camp without saying goodbye?

Turning around his eyes widen, seeing you standing next to his younger self. Storming toward you he tries to not yell at you to avoid someone else sees his younger version.

“Why did you let him go?” Dean grunts.

“As he needs to find a way back. Why did you lie to me? You already got the colt and you know where Lucifer is…would you just left me without saying a word?” You whisper.

“I don’t owe you an explanation. I’ve got a mission and no one will distract me. I’ll fulfill my mission without hesitation. Nothing else does count, not even you.”

Flinching at his words you turn to leave, trying to hide the tears falling from your eyes you meet another pair of emerald eyes.

The softer version of your lover watches your pained expression. Without hesitation he runs to your side to hold you tight.

“You don’t deserve her.” He yells at his future self. “She loves you and you just…”

Shaking his head he kisses your forehead softly.

“Hands off, she’s mine.”

“Do you own her? So Sam said yes and you didn’t think of telling me?”

“What for? He said yes, nothing will change this. I need to fix what you broke! You could’ve avoid this situation by saying yes too.” Your Dean yells.

“No, I still can fix this. He didn’t say yes in my time. I can stop him, he’s our brother. Sammy will listen to me. He must listen to me. We’ll find a way to defeat Lucifer without saying ‘yes’.”

“You really believe he’s still your brother? Fine you will come with me, just like her.” Grabbing your arm harshly your Dean drags you toward one of the cars.

“Let go off me!” You yell. Trying to wiggle out of Dean’s tight grip you fail.

“You’ll witness what Sam became and you will see me fulfilling my mission, Y/N. Later you’ll be punished for not following my order. We have strict rules.”

“That’s my fault not hers. You can’t punish her for something I have done.” The younger Dean says to defend you.

Smiling you look at him. Wishing you met him years before he became this hard and rough version.

“Fine.” Dean grunts looking at his younger self he envies him. This Dean still has hope and faith, he lost both years ago, when he lost Sam.

Driving toward the unavoidable confrontation your stomach drops and your heart aches. You know this will end badly.

Sighing you sit next to the 2009er version of Dean while he tries to calm down. You can see his mad, no beyond mad. You guess he would smash your Dean’s face if he could.

“Why are you into this version of me?”

“I love him.” You whisper. You can’t see the little smile on the face of your lover.

“How can you love him? He treats you so…bad.”

“He likes me too; he would never hurt me or let someone else hurt me. He saved me more than once. You don’t understand what I’ve been through the last years. With Dean everything is easier to bear. I know he seems to be cold and controlled but from time to time I get a glimpse of the man he used to be.”

“You really love me…No one before defended me like you. Except Sammy.” The past Dean whispers sad.

“You still can save him Dean.”

“I messed up epic, maybe he’ll never listen to me again.”

“Call him and tell him, everything.”

“Stop being all lovey-dovey we are there!” Your Dean grunts.

“You shouldn’t take him with us. What if he gets hurt? Or worse killed, Dean?”

“He’s protected by Zachariah. He needs to see what happens if he refuses to say yes.”

“Don’t do this Dean. Let’s just drive back to the camp. Maybe the colt doesn’t work? I read a book…”

“You and my younger self follow me while the others will do their job.”

“Dean that’s insane! This area is full of enemies. We can’t make it through all of them.”

“I know, that’s why Castiel and the other will play the bait so I can kill Lucifer.” Your Dean says and you start to shiver.

How can he sacrifice your friends?
