"You feelin any better?" Palani sat gently down next to his friend, setting a bottle of sports drink and a mug filled with soup down on the nightstand with flaking offwhite paint. The girl on the bed groaned, and tried to sit up, but her elbows buckled. Palani caught her and propped her up against the wall, shitty mattress creaking under their weight. From the dark corner a hiss as a sleek Salazzle prods forward, settling at the girl's other side to help keep her stable. She murmurs a soft thank you before turning her golden eyes to Palani. He holds out the drink. "Here. It's your favorite one, the light blue. Drink, then get some soup in you." *She takes it with shaking hands and sips gently, the Salazzle making encouraging snuffling noises. She manages about a third of it, and Palani gives a soft smile, loosely capping it before setting it on the nightstand. Taking the mug, he stirs it a little, metal spoon clinking against the ceramic. As he hands it over, his gaze meets her golden one as she quietly whispers, "...sometimes, I think you should be th' admin, and not me."
Season II Diaries - pt. 16: The Order of Events (#2)
With Serges dead, I needed an episode that strongly established Sigma as the Series Villain, while X went through the 3rd Fortress Stage. I decided to do this by paralleling what I did in S.II - Ep. 13: Serges’ Lament. In that one, we pieced all of the Counter-Hunter Moments from Season I & II and put together all of the Flashbacks from Serges’ perspective.
This time around, I wanted to do the same for Sigma, because in just one more episode, he was going to die. Heh, Spoiler Alert... X wins the day at the end of X2!! =P
...anyway. This was a blessing in disguise, because the X-Hunter Stage 3 blocking was boring to write out anyway.
How I managed to weave in and out, all of the past flashbacks so nicely, I don’t know. But I really love how I crafted this episode. It certainly wasn’t perfected in one take. I like how Serges & Sigma, despite working together, were on completely different pages, as to whose operation this really was, and who was the true Mastermind behind the whole thing. This episode proves that evermore, as Sigma truly has no remorse for the fact that his partners have been killed.
The only thing that sticks out in my mind, was being questioned as to why I called this episode “Peacemaker”, from my Editor. The Japanese translation of Light’s special weapon upgrade was just that. Something about, “I grant you the final peacekeeper” or something like that.
She also had something to say about the quick, anti-climactic battle against Agile in his Jet Mech. She didn’t get that, that was the point of getting that upgrade. So you just, BAM - give Agile 1 upper cut and BOOM. You’re in business!
When explaining this to her, she said she understood, but I think she was really rolling her eyes. Just another suggestion I was dodging, simply because. >.>
Who knows. I could be wrong.
But at this time, things were already becoming so different project wise. When this ‘aired’ on X9.com originally, it was already 3/19/13.
By that point, the X9 Malware Incident had already halted my X9 postings, and I’d already started anew on Tumblr, and posted up the first 9 episodes of Season I.
I was already working with a network of online friends who said they wanted to help me ‘VA’ these scripts and make this MMX Anime come to life!
I’d focussed so much on the.. let’s call it ‘VA - make it real’ project, that I was starting to lose ground of what I was already doing here with Season II.
So when the Malware issue had finally been lifted, I took a much needed break from the VA’s in March, (who were already pissing me off for other random reasons.)
This new Skype Group thing involved a lot of micromanaging and drama, which I wasn’t quite prepared for. And I was kinda done when one person in particular, who I wasn’t the most fond of in the first place, told me that their RPing in Chat took precedence over my Project. My whole Chat Room was BASED on this Project. Are you fucking Kidding me???
...But that is neither here nor there any more... It’s needless to say, I needed a break. And finishing out Season II was exactly the kind of break that I NEEDED.
With this Episode, it was a good way to reel myself back in, but I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t happening already. S.II Ep. 13 was posted on 2/6/13, then S.II Ep. 14 came out on 2/15/13, followed by S.II Ep. 15, which was on 3/4/13.
This one was on 3/19/13, and with any luck, by the end of the month I’d be finished with Season II altogether.
Find out how fighting Sigma and wrapping up Season II wasn’t as easy as I originally thought next time. X, Sigma & Zero’s Reunion of Vengeance is coming next.
