The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has reacted to the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa as he calls for peace. The General overseer via his verified Twitter handle, @PastorEAAdeboye, on Wednesday urge Nigerians to put an end to violence and embrace peace. The tweet read, “Please shun Violence, its dividends last a lifetime. Insecurity: Pray for military, other security agencies - Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday, called on Nigerians to support the military and other security agencies with prayers in their task of addressing security challenges in the country. Adeboye made the call at his monthly telecast message, with the theme “Our Shield and Defender”, via the church’s television. The prayer for the security agencies was coming against the backdrop of the spate of kidnaping, banditry and insurgency in the country. The military has been at the forefront of quelling the Boko Haram insurgency ravaging the North-East, while insecurity in other parts of the country is also being tackled. Adeboye expressed concern over the feelings by a section of Nigerians that the security agencies were not doing enough to curtail insecurity, saying that they were doing their best. He, however, said that Nigerians should acknowledge the fact that the security operatives too had their limitations which could also have an adverse effect on their operations. The general overseer chided those who were in the habit of criticising the military, adding that they should rather pray for them to be able to curtail insecurity so that the country could be at peace. Adeboye should speak up, Act like Modecai – Group of protesters demands

Celebrities including Charles Oputa  aka Charly Boy, Idris Abdulkareem, and Baba Frayo and a number of students of various institutions in Nigeria, on Monday, went on a protest at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Camp ground, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway over Leah Sharibu’s captivity and insecurity in Nigeria. The group of protesters displayed banners of different inscriptions such as Adeboye, act like the Modecai of our time etc. The protesters demanded that the General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye should speak up concerning the worsening security situation in Nigeria. Idris Abdulkareem while speaking to journalists stated that if the General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye should speak up then something will be done about Leah’s situation. “I believe his voice will be heard and we need his voice as soon as possible”. When asked what difference the voice of the G. O will make, he said “Leah Sharibu for goodness sake is a Christian; she’s the only girl that didn’t deny her faith in the presence of people with knives and guns that want to cut off her head. Do you know what that means, that girl is a role model for every Christian. “I’m a Muslim, I don’t discriminate. Nigeria is a country for all of us and we want baba to speak and baba must speak”. He also said that if the G.O does not speak they will be back. However the National Overseer, Pastor Joseph Obayemi addressed the crowd on behalf of the General Overseer, who was not on camp ground at the time of the protest,  promising to convey their message to the General Overseer. “Your coming here is not for yourselves alone, it is for your future and the future of generation yet unborn and it’s for the glory of this country. God will bless all of you in Jesus name”. He also asked for their permission to pray for which they consented to and then he offered prayers for them and for their intentions to be successful. Adeboye cautions pastors over sexual allegation

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has broken silence on the rape allegation against some pastors. Adeboye who spoke during a service at the Redemption Camp, stated that he doesn’t have much to say other than what the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, have said. “I don’t want to comment on some happenings… Like I’ve always told you when people say ‘why don’t you talk?’. I say I’m under authority. The Redeemed Christian Church of God belongs to CAN and we belong to PFN. And in CAN we have a president; in PFN we have a president. Whatever they say, that’s what I’ve said. That’s why I kept my mouth shut”, he said. Since the news of sexual allegation against some pastors broke out, many Nigerians including notable pastors have aired their opinions and also called for an investigation to be carried out to ascertain the truth of the matter. Pastor Adeboye also had a word of advice for aspiring ministers of God. According to him, there’s nothing hidden that shall not come to the open. He went on to warn them that their sins will surely find them out. Speaking further, the man of God warned the aspiring ministers to flee from youthful lust and evil. “When you see a sister smiling at you in a ‘koi koi’ way, run. Run as in terror.
