“Okay so, before we sit down and start working on any lyrics, there’s something I need to tell you and you’re probably not gonna like it: I have absolutely no clue what your boss wants from me.” While his on-stage persona could easily pass as a talented singer who’s been in the business for long enough to be considered a role model, the real Baek Minho has very little experience when it comes to how exactly the idol industry works.

The music industry is easy enough to get by, and Minho can often wing it by simply having things explained to him a few dozen times by his manager, but when it comes to communicating with anyone beyond that, it feels like suddenly being appointed an ambassador for a country he’s never even heard of before. Which is why with the intern now invited into his studio, Minho can only let the cat out the bag. “I don’t understand this concept and I have absolutely no tune or idea whatsoever to start out with.”

Minho shushes him immediately, going even as far as interrupting the other, when he wouldn’t ever dare do that unless stuck in the middle of a rather heated debate - and even in those scenarios, he tries to bite down on his tongue as hard as he possibly can without drawing blood, to avoid not allowing the other party to get to their point.

But this sounds like the beginning of polite protests, the kind probably only people like Jiyoon could genuinely mean - otherwise they’re just empty words delivered to avoid sounding like a douchebag who’d simply say ‘yes’ to a cup of tea, even though there’s nothing wrong with that (society has its ways).

So he shushes and places the tray on his desk. With his keyboard - and pen, and rubber band, and candy wrapper, and notebook, and pencil, and marble, you get the point - pushed away, the tray has just enough space to reside between the two of them, as Minho pulls up a chair - hidden in a corner, used to throw jackets on, since when does he even have it?

He sits opposite the other and reaches for the warm mug.

“You sound like someone took pieces of cotton and just stuffed them into your nose and warm tea always helps with colds, trust me,” he is now carefully picking the full teacup up when he decides to look up from it and wink at the other male, before slowly extending it to him.“At least momentarily... And especially if you put honey in it, but I didn’t know if you like honey, so... I mean, it’s right here, the jar, I put it there so if you want to add it, be my guest! Just don’t tell anyone I keep food in here, my manager strictly forbade it. Says I’m too clumsy or something... Anyways, drink up!”

Picking up the Marc Jacob’s brush up between her index fingers, she twirled the object in an attempt to see exactly why it wore such a price tag. “I don’t understand,” She mused to the companion at her side. “People used to do make up just fine without any sort of brushes. Now this new wave of doing everything with brushes has taken the world by storm, so they’re deciding to sell this brush for the same price as a whole eyeshadow set?! It makes no sense.” She’s grumbling to herself by this point, riddled with frustration. Jennie had collected a small set of brushes for herself and they had done her a great service. Most from Amazon, some were gifts from happy clients. Never would she pick up a consumer item with such a hefty price. So instead, pulling a Robin Hood, she quickly stuffs the item into her jacket pocket and whispers under her breath.

“Let’s go. This’ll teach them a lesson.”
