Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012)
Ok, so no part of me thought that this movie was going to be life changing, but it was better than I thought. I’m not gonna go into all of the characters because there’s tons, but I will include as many of the actors as I can in the tags.
The premise is that Mrs. Clause (Cheryl Ladd) is going to Pineville because that’s where Christmas spirit is the highest in the world. She lost an ambassador for the Santa Cause, so she’s looking for another one. The pups sneak onto the sleigh to go with her. They recently learned about the magic crystals that grant Christmas wishes, but Eli (Danny Woodburn) told them they had to wait for their own crystals. So, to prove that they are ready for crystals themselves, they steal Eddy’s (Richard Kind) and wander through Pineville granting any wish they hear. And of course, the only person in Pineville with no Christmas spirit wishes for everybody else’s to go away. A chain reaction occurs, and things look dark for Santa (Pat Finn).
This movie was kind of a weird experience, because looking at all the parts, it was pretty bad. The CGI dog mouths were creepy, all of the original songs were annoying, and everybody acted so over the top through the whole thing. It was too much of everything, but it kinda worked? Like I didn’t hate it as much as I planned on. I’ll give it 2 stars.
