incomplete list of bullshit my uncle (allegedly the most sensible of his three siblings), a literal lawyer, has said to me:

for about 7 years of my life convinced me he didn't know what a swan was and that it was just a large duck

found the english word "parsnip" so funny that he used it in german, to the point that all his niblings thought the german word was "parschnippel". none of us questioned it until i used it in all seriousness in a conversation in vienna, to very confused responses. I have not told my siblings, nor do i intend to.

when i told him i was stressed about exams around the age of 14 said "fuck it, drop out and drink vodka instead" when i said how will i fund it he said "if it stops you doing a law degree i'll fund it"

tried to teach me a sentence in luxembourgish (i can't write it out for my life but i could probably still say it). the gist of it was " a squirrel sees a butterfly, climbs a tree, does a front flip/forward roll, then a back flip/backwards roll". absolutely no idea where that came from
