A quick sketch for those who liked Swap!Patch at first sight on his birthday! Yes, it’s actually today, 23 of July. He’s seeing you for the first time, reader, but he already loves you and is waving hello! This is for you. Specifically for *you*.

And classic Patch is off to the side, asking for a bit of quiet. He’s probably just jealous that today, all your attention isn't going solely to him ;)

DAY 5 — ARGUMENTATION

- He really is a unique child, isn't he? Today, he ran until he was utterly exhausted again. He tried to build a bird out of his crystals—the one from the book you recently brought back from Dreamtale. But the crystals fell apart, and he just laughed.

- Oh, thank goodness he finally fell asleep. What a baby.

- He shouldn't waste his magic on trifles. The code of his crystal soul is a lock that has somehow sealed within itself the explosive negative energy of the apples' corruption and my own excessive determination. The more he plays, the greater the strain on his system.

- *soft giggle* He’s three years old, Geno. He’s a child. And as long as this "lock" is happy, the negativity corruption in my head stays silent. This crystal... *points to his eye* ...didn't even pulse today.

- Don't deny that you care about him. I saw how tenderly you adjust his scarf when the little one gets tangled up in it. Some freedom isn’t bad for him. Patch keeps us both stable. He's our son…

- A son?! Don't you ever call him that in front of me, Nightmare! We don't have a son! (his voice begins to tremble and glitch; he places his hand directly over his crystal scar) We have a system anomaly that saved our pathetic lives when we almost wiped out the entire Dreamtale! Your homeworld! A-and I… I’m simply keeping an eye on the code that prevents the multiverse from collapsing. If baby gets tangled up and damages itself, the consequences could be fatal. It’s pure logic. I know what it’s like to lose your world, Nightmare. I lost Papyrus. Everything I touch turns to dust and errors! I-I can't...

- I can't bear the thought of getting attached to this boy, only for him to disappear one day after completing his task.

Meet new member of Purple Glitch System Codes —

Swap!Patch — the Antivirus archiver-healer.

Unlike other variations, this little star has a much lighter destiny, born from a bond of pure empathy and mutual protection. But why is he the only Patch that doesn't melt from the inside? 🩵

The Core Differences of the Swap Multiverse:

‼️ PURPLE GLITCH SPOILER ALERT ‼️

The Trigger of the Resonance:

In the Classic story of Purple Glitch verse, PG!Nightmare fled to the Save Screen to escape his own agony and isolation and fell in one-sided love with PG!Geno. In the Swap version of Purple Glitch, everything changes. Swap!PGDream breaks down into uncontrollable tears after witnessing a brutal attack on his twin brother, Nightmare. His overwhelming empathy and pure desperation to protect his brother cause his soul to fracture, ripping open a portal straight into the Save Screen where was PGGeno!Berry.

A Bond of Shared Grief:

Because of the nature of the Swap universe, Swap!PGDream and PGGeno!Berry (Blue) are roughly the same age when they meet. Blue is severely traumatized and glitching after failing to save his tall brother, PGSwap!Papyrus. Dream is terrified that the exact same fate awaits Nightmare. They find common ground instantly, binding their souls over a shared, deeply rooted love and protective instinct for their brothers. They become each other's emotional anchors.

Bypassing the "Fear of Attachment":

Classic PG!Geno pushes Classic Patch and PG!Nightmare away because he is terrified of loving someone only to lose them again. But in Swap version of PG!verse Geno!Berry manages to completely bypass this psychological struggle. Through Swap!PGDream’s gentle, positive code and their mutual teenage support, Blue heals. He doesn't see Swap!Patch as a pathetic replacement for a ghost; he accepts and loves Swap!Patch as a real son.

The Orange Hoodie & Stable Soul:

When Dream nearly succumbs to the golden apple's corruption, PGGeno!Berry steps out of the box to pull him back. The collision of their code triggers the system's protective patch. Instead of a tattered red scarf \as classic\, Swap!Patch materializes safely wrapped inside the cozy, oversized orange hoodie of the deceased PGSwap!Papyrus.

The Result:

Because his parents chose love over fear, Swap!Patch’s Crystal Soul is entirely stable. Swap!PGDream remains a warm, soft, and loving father who reads him bedtime stories, while Geno!Blue provides a safe home. Swap!Patch has a significantly brighter path, which leaves him carrying a heavy weight of survivor's guilt when he meets his fractured, melting other versions of himself in Bluescreen's hub near crossline between multiverses.

Not so simple, I know “|D

💾 [SYSTEM UPDATE]: NEW CHARACTER FILE COMPILED 💾

Meet PATCH (The Antivirus Archiver) — my official original character for the "PURPLE GLITCH" AU! 💠

Finally finished his reference sheet ;)

Born unexpectedly from the residual energies of passive Nightmare's negative corruption, Geno's stubborn determination, and the System Core’s will. Upon collision, these conflicting powers began erasing the half-corrupted Tree of Feelings, very space around them due to critical system errors. To prevent total deletion, the System itself started a protective patch and trapped, sealed this volatile energy into a stabilizing quarantine core -a crystal soul- from which Patch eventually materialized.

He might only look about 10–12 years old, but don't let that fool you. He’s incredibly self-assured, border-line cocky, proud boy.

💠 A few quick facts about his mechanics:

* Movement: Instead of classic teleportation, he flies on a giant crystal structure like a surfboard!

* The Archiver: He can compress and archive anything into error-proof crystals to protect it from glitches, though it requires constant magic drain outside the Void.

* Debugger: He can only warp to spaces where there's a system error that needs fixing.

Check out his soul design in the corner. That crystal isn't just a shape, it's a powerful system firewall holding back a ticking time bomb of clashing codes! I had so much fun designing his layout like an old OS interface.
