“I know you’re not calling me a nerd. Poindexter.” Her smile is hidden behind her cup. For the most part she is teasing. For another it takes her back to college. She used to call him that with nothing but affection and a means to get under his skin. Seems to her that it worked extremely well.

If anybody pulled that line on her she’d think they were up to something. Luckily Connor isn’t just anybody. She dropped her data pad aside. All motivation for work flew out the window with his declaration. That’s one thing she noticed. He does a very good job at distraction. Must be a built in skill. 

Her smile grew. “You’re getting really good at that,” the analyst admitted, turning in her seat to face him just a bit better. 

Jade’s eyes flickered over his face. Searching for a smile there well it’s the thought that counts. “Well honeybun that’s a mutual feeling. You don’t have to say a word. Or do anything to show me. Just - be.” There was a pause, looking away at her forgotten work but she pressed her head to his chest. Clearly leaving it and just listening to that thrum beneath her ear.

Connor dangled a pair of keys from his fingers. The offer was a means of acceptance. Olive branches would come with him foregoing suspicion. He certainly was not Sixty at any rate. There is no reason for Connor to think model -52 would do harm. 

“Here. You may take these. The vehicle is parked outside. Just have it back before late tonight.”
