dear  jasper ,  

      don’t  you  dare  think  i’ve  forgiven  you  for  just  leaving  like  that . you  owe  me  an  apology ,  i’ll  wait  for  you  to  give  it  to  me  in  person .  i  guess  now  you  know  why  i’ve  taken  so  long  to  reply  to  your  letters ,  i  was  angry  and  hurt  and  i  wanted  to  let  you  suffer  a  little .  i  still  don’t  understand  why  you  left ,  why  you  felt  like  you  had  to  go  to  the  frontline  so  badly .  what  is  it  about  war  that  drew  you  like  a  moth  to  a  flame  ?  your  mother  said  you  even  lied  about  your  age  to  enlist ,  but  i  guess  you’ve  been  doing  a  lot  of  that  lately .  still ,  i  hope  you  are  well ,  and  this  letter  reaches  you  safely .  that  the  war  will  be  over  soon  and  you  will  come  back  home .  prepare  to  grovel  ,  jasper  whitlock . 

                            yours ,                                     a   very   put  out   alice  brandon  ps.     i’ve   decided  to  accompany  cynthia  on  one  of  her  little  trips  ,  you  know  how  she  likes  those ,  and it’s  good  to  get  away  from  the  town  nowdays ,  with  everything  being  so  gloomy  because  of  the  war  and  all .  my  address  might  change ,  my  letters  might  come  from  all  over  the  place .  don’t  be  alarmed .

Both for different tracks!  The ones from the movie soundtrack that always cause tears to well up are Sanctuary and The Bells of Notre Dame (reprise), and the ones from the musical soundtrack are Entr'acte, Someday, and Made of Stone.  I remember watching it with @thecurseisinourblood and M/ichael Arden stood three feet away at the edge of the stage with all his sweat singing his heart out and it was an emotional experience.  If I could go back in time, I would love to watch Drew Sarich, but I’m already really lucky so.  :’)

His youngling vampire has gotten her grubby little hands on an Argus C3 camera, and has not put it down in the days since. They’re under the cover of dusk now, just enough light that any pictures taken won’t be covered in dark shadows.

Tonight, especially, he’s restless. He’s starting to get a little paler, dark circles starting to form under his eyes. He’s fiddling with some sort of music box he got from the pocket of a last meal, holding it above his head, trying to take it apart with deft fingers.

Red eyes look up towards the young woman, and he gives her an almost amused look. “You get far too curious over human technology,” he murmured. There’s an affectionate note to his voice. Jasper is starting to get used to the…eclectic manner of his protege. Between the fascination with humans, and eating animals. Well. He figured he might as well just roll with it.

ALICE  LOVES  THE  CAMERA .  he’d  fetched  it  for  her  one  day  after  a  hunt ,  it  had  belonged  to  a  now  dearly  departed  hiker ,  god  rest  his  soul ,  and  the  various  photographs  he  had  taken  of  nature ,  of  deer ,  of  rabbits  alice  couldn’t  bear  to  delete . 

but  that  didn’t  mean  she  wasn’t  about  to  embark  on  a  photography  project  of  her  own .  she’d  tried  to  take  pictures  of  wildlife ,  to  carry  on  his  legacy  in  a  way ,  but  they  were  always  too  scared  of  her  and darted  away .  so  she  settled  on  a  different  subject ,  if  only  this  one  would  cooperate . 

a  flash ,  she  studies  the  resultant  picture  with  the  seriousness  of  a   seasoned  critic ,  paying  no  heed  to  his  growing  irritation . ❛  --  you’re  one  to  talk .  say ,  what  tune  does  that  play  ?  ❜
